"Pinchas Zukerman" "Frank Peter Zimmermann" "Leonidas Kavakos" "Alexander Markov" violino "Erick Friedman" "Vadim Repin" "Henryk Szeryng" "Joshua Bell" "Isaac Stern" "David Oistrakh" "Prihod Vasa" "Zino Francescatti" "Juila Fischer" "Nathan Milstein" "jascha heifetz" "Maxim vengerov" "ruggiero ricci" "hilary hahn" "itzhak perlman" - Hudba
I never heard a violinist on this level of perfection. He is awesome.
Where have this guy been in my whole life?? In the shadow of Oistrakh and Heifetz?? This performance is unbelievable outstanding!!
Stefan Ankarbranth Not really. He was his own man so to speak. All three had their own very distinct ways of performing. They also used different violins. Kogan used Guarneri with its mellow sound, Oistrach and Heifetz preferred Stradivarius. Also Kogan was younger and performed about another 10 years after Oistrach’s passing. He was well loved and respected.
Everyone had his own style and his own phrasing and in general different playing
I agree with Stefan in the sense that it’s more than just strings, violins, phrasing, dynamics & technique. Something inexplicable one cannot possibly describe without the risk of losing the essence of the entire artist.
it has been rumored that his career was a little under shadow because of Oistrakh. but in spite of this, he was deeply respected.
@@Tatiana-yp2bk actually, Heifetz played on a 1740 Guarneri for almost all of his concerts and recordings. It's now nicknamed the 'Heifetz, David' Guarneri. Ferdinand David, once concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra performed the premiere of the now famous violin concerto of his friend, Felix Mendelssohn, on the same instrument. Heifetz also occasionally played on a Stradivarius he owned called the 'Dolphin', named after its striking appearance and the color of its back. It was recently given on loan to Ray Chen by the Nippon Music Foundation.

In terms of tone and quality of sound, Kogan is just about as good as it gets. Seriously one of the best ever.

Wonderful ! Bravo LEONID KOGAN :)
I respect him so much. I believe this video is so rare and thank you so much for sharing this video. I am very satisfied with his beautiful sound.
And to make things even harder for him, this is an entirely different key from the other Zigeurnweisen. (Is there a spelling error?)
@@violinistjaepark8366 No. This is the old Soviet pitch standard, i'd say somewhere around A-446.
best violinist ever
holy shit @ 1:55 - his whole set up is so stable and tension-free that he can do 2 full 90 degrees thumb flexes in a row during shift while playing and still sound better than anyone today!
I can' t talk right now. This really touches me. Very beautiful!
David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Leonid Kogan, the 3 greatest violinist ever.

The best in the world.
too many vids nowadays and i seldom finishing on watching any single 1 of them . . . but Kogan got me, the mighty will, the strength, the power and his penetrating tone
all these firmly acclaimed him and impeccable historical violinistic figure in the world, no matter past or future
and this is one of the true value of music, not going to fade out with time
real master piece!
Unbelievable.
Qué magisterio de Maestro
Great! Thank you so much!
Questions to all professional musicians: 1.) Has this footage actually been sped up? 2.) I'm not a musician and only recently re-discovered my love for classical music, but I don't think I've ever heard the Zigeunerweisen played that well. At times the notes just seem to come out of thin air without the bow ever touching the string and the tone is crystal clear, to me it seems outstandingly smooth. Is he as good as I think he is? 3.) What other Violinists would you recommend? Besides him, I only found out about Oistrach, Grumiaux and Perlman so far (Keep in mind, I just started digging in again!).
I am not a professional musician but He is REALLY GOOD. I had listened to a lot of good violinist of our time but I am not good with spelling their names try Heifetz, Vengerov (sorry I mispelled his name for sure), Leonidas Kovak, Hilary Hann, etc. BUT LEONID KOGAN is the only one who made me cry and really thought and understood that the piece changes depending on who plays it. His "Nel cor piu non mi sento" is so beautiful that for th first time, I trully appreciated it and actually thought I was listening to a different piece :'(((
@@stralbem Thanks, I actually have found Heifetz, Vengerov and Hahn by now, but not Kovak, so thanks for that and for your input!
Glad I was able to introduce someone new :) Try Stefan Milankovich as well. For the younger generation try, Benny Tseng, Ray Chen, and Sumina Studer. For Benny Tseng, I would say try watching his vid with TwoSetviolin I think the vid is titled $1000 vs $1M violin because that vid truly showed his prowess
@@schwindsichtigaderechte5293 I think @stralbelm meant Kovak = Leonidas Kavakos, a Greek violinist who is also outstanding. Kavakos' rendition of some of the Paganini pieces is mindblowing, but in my opinion, I think Kogan (the guy in this video) has full command of Nel Cor Piu Non Mi Sento. :) Hope this helps some!
