As a longtime gamer, I’ve only recently come to realise how widespread the usage of scripts and configs has become. All the time you spend mastering mechanics, awareness and map knowledge can be rendered moot quite quickly. It’s really begun to turn me off gaming sadly.

Using configs is cheating. You say Tap strafe is one input in both but tap strafe + aim assist is unfair. Glad Apex banned it. Disappointed so many content creators use it.
Sounds like your actual issue is with aim assist and not controller tap strafing then. The controller tapstrafe i used (the one that is fair) is even far more limited than m and k because of sensitivity. You can't even utilise aim assist and the tap strafe at the same time. Bunny hopping, wall bouncing, mantle jumping, super jump etc ect still all far easier on m and k, most because of the inhuman ability to spam W with a scroll of the mouse. You have drawn an arbitrary line in the sand. Binding spam w to a button and to a wheel to me is the exact same thing.
@iTemp2 Aim assist already provides a significant advantage and I'm okay with that because of the movement advantage with MnK. Adding tap strafe mechanics (or other movement configs) to it makes the controller OP. It's not a level playing field anymore. We're both drawing arbitrary lines in the sand. I think all configs are a form of cheating while you think the basic configs are fine and the complex ones aren't. Just have to agree to disagree, I guess. Yea I feel like I don't even care about tap strafing but any time you're implementing changes outside of in-game UI, it's hacking, and for a PVP game it makes a difference. Certain things just don't make as big of a difference to certain people and that's where the arbitrary line in the sand comes from. In game UI = intended use by design. Config... I guess unless the devs from the beginning said hey guys do this, is not intended even if not corrected. I really just watch him cause he's fun and consistent. I think even if he was mediocre I'd still watch so that's also why arbitrary haha
Because it’s free to play. You can make accounts at will. Just think up a name and go. What are the repercussions for cheating? Same with the Xim and Cronus pax users. They cheat constantly and get no bans. Apex needs to step their game up. You see other games blocking cheaters, even SYSTEMS (ps) are trying to block them. Apex seems to not care whatsoever

Actually got killed by my first ever cheater in apex today level 4 bloodhound with 11 kills in the first 5mins decided to watch him and he ended with 32kills in pubs with 7k damage. Never had it before as I'm not the best player but can hold my own. But I got deleted so fast and could tell it was off from my normal getting 1cliped it was just faster if that makes sense
Game developers ban hackers in ban waves, so the first few weeks of any new season is the worst. Give it 3-6wks max and he's gonna have to buy a new profile and hide his hacks as best he can to not get caught.
I hate PC cheaters and hackers you must be really bad at games to cheat your way through games So that’s why I always turn cross play of when I can on the games I play
Idk what it is but I play on ps and never seen a cheater while on cross progression I guess it’s only Xbox/ps players I go against but my lobby are diamond/master/pred sometimes the causal diamond and regular high kill gamers is pretty chill so far I’ve seen no cheaters since switch to ps when season 12 drop and it’s now season 19 still haven’t seen a cheater till dis day on apex
I have over 2500 hrs on Xbox and I ran into my first cheater about a month ago. Plus it was in Control, so I had to battle him the whole match. Made for some interesting fights with them
Ok and my tap strafe settings were slide, jump, aim with right stick, and press tap strafe. It's the exact same. That's my point. There were so many configs that were unfair but mine were the exact same as if I did it on m and k. The others are unfair.
I wish being good at apex transferred over to other FPS games but at the end of the day, the only reason diamonds are diamonds and preds are preds is because they’re comfortable holding hands. that’s like saying your the world champion heavy weight boxer because you had 2 friends in the ring you were “coordinating” well with vs 1. 12 year olds do it. literally. if you don’t solo kill someone with our assistance, it doesn’t count as a kill. that’s charity. no reason to grind ranked when you can’t showcase your skill.
I do agree to an extent. It's a bit odd in a BR because I could probably get one of my cats to diamond just by being there, whilst in a game like LoL it's harder to br carried to that extent. The skill gap that exists between the top players and low diamond players is absolutely huge. A below average player can reach diamond.
@@iTemp2at what point can you consider yourself an above average player? I don’t play much ranked I sit around plat/dia but my pubs games are masters/preds and 20 bomb badges all over the place. I’ve never dropped a 20 or even a 4k but I win some pubs games
Oh yeah i ran into a PS player with full on aim bots so they must be able to get aimbot of cronus now. So console isnt safe from this anymore. The game is in a total mess. But its ok you can buy a death box for £350 to make up for the terrible experience
I tried playing without aim assist for like 3 hours. It's barely playable. Maybe cause I'm on console but still. Completely removing it is not the answer

Tap strafing should have been shut down AS SOON AS IT WAS DISCOVERED by the players. IT was NEVER a legit tech. It was ALWAYS cheating and exploiting the engine in a way it wasn't intended to be. Absolutely full stop. No exceptions.

Why don't you guys literally just move over to a console? They are plenty powerful these days and there are never any problems with cheaters in any game. At least not from my personal experience. Especially since you and some many players like you are using controllers anyway.
I think you'd be surprised how many of the "top" players on console are absolutely, 100% cheating with anti recoil scripts on zen/chronus. Gaming is infested atm.
PC players are destroying Apex, too easy to cheat. Since PC players are abusing macros keybinds etc why should casual console players play Apex? PC players are trying to get edge over other player y using keybinds, macros etc. that make more PC players to join the cheating. So console players either are in disadvantage or get chronos or whatever hardware cheats to keep up with the "legit" cheats that PC have. So clean casual players leave and dirty sweats are getting dirtier and sweatier.

tap strafing on MnK is not one input (unless you're cheating)

Its not fair to let one side be able to tap strafe and the other side to not be able to whatsoever. This game is dying by its own devs.

A console will never be able to do a quarter of a pc can do. People and computers do more than play games.
PC players are destroying Apex, too easy to cheat. Since PC players are abusing macros keybinds etc why should casual console players play Apex? PC players are trying to get edge over other player y using keybinds, macros etc. that make more PC players to join the cheating. So console players either are in disadvantage or get chronos or whatever hardware cheats to keep up with the "legit" cheats that PC have.
