In Brazil it became a trend that started at about 2012 or 2013 and had the most expression during the 2014 world cup, but it was mostly a midiatic thing. Italians, though, in every sport sing the anthem with great passion or great Joy. I remember when frederica pellegrini won an olympic gold and sang the anthem so happy and emotional. I really love that.
