    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před rokem +1

      Hi Rick, great question - There is no need to apply Release on top of DarkSide. You could do so if you wanted but it will not aid in its durability. Darkside is going to do well on its own as long as it has a few hours to cure (preferably 12 if possible). I suppose if you had to release it after 4 hours into the rain the release gently applied couldn't hurt.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi Alan, great question! Since the 500ml and 1 Liter bottle are 2 different heights they have to be trimmed to match the bottle. So, just place the nozzle vertical next to the bottle and mark a line about 1/2" longer than the bottle and then slice it at a slight angle with shear scissors or box cutter and your all set!

    I washed my tires, 5 years old, never cleaned before.
    I used foam canon with Carpro Descale, and iron remover. Unfortunately, it dried up. A white haze appeared on rubber that was very difficult to remove. After 30 minutes I only removed about 80% of it. It does not come off with Descale, Lift, IPA, Trix or car shampoo.
    1. Why did it appear?
    2. What’s the best way to remove it except Carpro Retyre?
    On another note, how to remove old Turtle FlexWax from intricate rims? Descale and Lift did not kill it.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi,
      1. - It appeared for one or more of the following reasons. Because it was allowed to dry on the surface, because those products are not made for tires, because it reacted with whatever is built up on the tires, and I am going to assume you may have done it in the sun or on a hot surface. You never want to use cleaners on a warm surface or in the sun.
      2. - Retyre is for cleaning tires and will work better than anything else. Beyond that, some all purpose cleaners may work ok with good scrubbing.
      3. - Its critical to AVOID getting stuff like that on rims and paint etc. Once on there it is difficult to remove once hardened. Try alcohol, try CARPRO Inside... if neither work then an abrasive polish like CARPRO Reflect will remove it.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před měsícem +1

      If you wash the car regularly and often then sometimes you can just rinse the Darkside off and then wipe but every two weeks just give it a quick wash with the car wash on the tires and rinse the soap back off. No need to use a brush, just a soft mitt or microfiber towel. If you use a tire cleaner chemical then it will start to affect the Darkside sooner and can remove it too soon so no tire cleaners until you are ready to re-apply or want to strip it well.

    Why don’t anyone do the inside of the tire… Not for aesthetic reasons but to protect the walls of the tyre?

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 8 dny

      Fair point that we have never really considered. I would imagine that the inside does not receive the same type of exposure as the outside of the tire does. Mainly looking at UV in that instance. But i would imaging the main reason people don't do this is the hassle of taking the tires off each time they want to apply. Plus even though Darkside does technically protect from the elements. Its main focus is to keep the tires clean for a better look.

    • @SkyCarCare
      @SkyCarCare  Před 8 dny

      I can tell you from experience, it is because they do not need any protection on the inside since it is not exposed to UV. My Saturn Sky sits only in the garage except for very few drives and the tires are from 2008 (almost 20 years old) and still look brand new although I have not dressed them in over a decade.
