Durant is root bear which is weird because there are no root bear enemies or no soda boss but soda enemy’s it’s confusing
Maybe Durnak is the leader of the troops because he's the only root beer there

All the bosses have some sort of enemies which are the same to there bosses and soda and chocolate are the only one I know of which have no boss food based off them.
According to the wiki he’s a bottle of maple surup.

1st reason: Sonic saves the Animals in his game and dadish saves his children.
2nd reason: in some Mario games he double jumps and dadish does that too.
3rd reason: dadish in dadish 3 the dadish in the double jump gives a spinning jump in the 2nd jump looking like sonic.
