    Great video again. Did Manchester marathon yesterday whilst keeping a 490kg SBD total. Big inspiration!

    This is great. As someone who is really just coming to training for the first time (consistently), it was great to be reassured how much time I should be doing just in GPP state

    Another banger, although I felt personally attacked when you mentioned how having no goal leaves the door open to overcooking a long metcon or run then not recovering properly 😳 have Omnia considered a GPP based beginner’s template? Or basically just something for anyone too indecisive to make a proper goal

    I am training for some future competitions in BJJ but also am very into lifting for power and hypertrophy. I hit weights about 5 times a week & BJJ 4/5 times, &I am 20 years old. Do you think this volume is appropriate for adequate recovery.

      Coming from a person who does jitsu and endurance training and have slowly mixed that in to train for a triathlon the only thing g I can say for jitsu is, lifting weights honestly barely make you a better person in ji jitsu , as well as running a marathon doesn’t make you roll longer however, when you gain strength and endurance you can learn how to implement that on the mat. Over time doing jitsu I’ve learned to control my pace And tempo, but I’ve found that strength training has done very little to improving my ji jitsu compared to me just rolling more Nd more. Ji jitsu is a more specific sport that requires more practice and specificity that some sports don’t require and so strength is never a weakness but IMO I found just getting better on the mat you’ll need to dedicate way more time to jitsu than strength training

      Jonny (in this video) has been training all forms of martial arts for 20 years, and has looked after fighters such as Danny Henry > Tyson Fury - so has more expertise on this than I do! If it's something you're really keen to pursue then best bet would be booking a consultation in with him at www.omnia-performance.com!

    Training for a 70.3 ironman but also enjoy strength training, I'm doing 3 weight sessions per week alongside my running cycling and swimming which i do 2x of each per week. Should i reduce my strength training to allow more recovery? Thanks! (Ironman is in 6 months

      Would entirely depend on what is in those sessions etc, and what else in your life you’re managing the volume around.
      If you lay it out in more detail here I’ll be happy to dissect a little more 👊🏼

    I have aspirations to complete a half Ironman at some point early - mid 2022. However I also want to increase strength/muscle mass and continue training bjj. I’m thinking one of these goals has to go in order for me to be able to recover properly and make progress. What do you guys suggest? Love your content!!
    Currently running about 50km per week + 3-5 weight sessions. Can’t do bjj right now unfortunately due to lockdowns in Australia

      Hope all goes well 💪

      @ferguscrawley95  Před 2 lety +2

      We suggest you find that balance that best fits your priority goals - how to get there is the nuanced part!
      If you’re not recovering - do a little less and see how you adapt. If you’re then not adapting, do a little more.
      We do have a hybrid BJJ plan dropping soon as well FYI 🤙🏼
