    WordPress makes backing up your WordPress site simple. You have the choice to manually perform this using cPanel, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), or special WordPress plugins. #Next3offload is one of the most effective plugins Backup Your WordPress Website.

      Could you, please, answer this quick question:
      Can I still use this WP Backup Plugin for my WP org based website backup, in a case my website has a hosting server provider outside the WP com? I am grateful for your time given to my question - much appreciated.

    Thank you, Stewart, for this tutorial, which even I, as a non-techie, understood. I do, however, have one question: what is the benefit of sending the back up to a remote place, like Google Drive? Is it necessary to do both ways of back up? Have a nice day! 😊

    • @StewartGauld
      @StewartGauld  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Your welcome! It's best to store your backups in a remote place. That way you are not filling up your WordPress database full of backups, also if you cannot access your backups at least you can from your remote storage.

    Hi Stewart great video, silly question just wondering in this first example when you use updraft are you saving the backup to your computer or your hosts server? Also using cpanel I gather it is saving backup to your hosts server?

    • @StewartGauld
      @StewartGauld  Před 2 lety

      Hey David,
      You want to save your back up to an external destination, such as Google drive so you do not take up space on your server. Cpanel will be stored on your server. However, you can download both backups from both methods to your computer.

    Hey Stewart, Another great video! I have a question. I restored my website from a backup of 3 weeks ago. When I did it completely messed my site up. Is there anyway to reverse the back up and go back to what it looked like before? I did not have a backup stored from today. Hoping to just undo or reverse the backup I did just now.

      @@StewartGauld I think it has something to do with the PHP version of the hosting service where I tried to restore my backup, some plugins I had installed require a more recent PHP version than the 7.4.33. The weird thing is that it did restore them anyway, or maybe there was something I didn't notice.

      @@StewartGauld But the good thing with Updraft Plus is that it shows a message saying that the PHP version may cause an issue before clicking on "restore", this is something I didn't find using another plugin called "WPvivid".
