NBK-06 KO Generation Toy Crane Hook (3p Constructicon Hook) - GotBot True Review NUMBER 429

- This time I look at the NBK-06, which is a knock-off of the Generation Toy Gravity Builder team member named Crane Hook, who is itself a third party representation of the Transformers Constructicon character called Hook. While the truck mode is hefty and well-articulated, all things considered, the robot mode is very stylized. In fact, I would argue that it is almost unrecognizable when compared to the animation model. Nevertheless, the crane can be removed, which does help the situation and, furthermore, it can be employed as an accessory for the combiner mode. As a toy, this is very good, as a Constructicon, it could have been done better. Besides all of that, he makes a nice upper torso for Devastator and has an extremely interesting conversion of the combiner head. Check out all the details and see what you think of him for yourself!

@@DennisMoultonAKAGotBot The NBK Hook the Transformer you're transforming. I spend almost all day yesterday putting it back together. I didn't finally get it put back together right until 8:30 last night. Now I have another one I have to do the same the one with the scoop bucket

Dude you forgot to showcase the head lights in combined mode
There is a very good reason for that. ...I had no clue it existed until I had returned it to the owner and he contacted me about 2 weeks later to tell me it was there. That said, it's placement is so integrated and seamless that it just shows how brilliant the design is.
I feel like they could have molded maybe some barrels into the end of the crane arm it could have been seen as over the shoulder weaponry. But as is, with Hook being the sort of medic of the Constructicons, him having the access to his crane in robot mode does make a bit of sense.

Four down, one ta go and then we see what it all comes to, though I must say I am kinda biased for the CW version because of the true G1 look, but we will see. Thanks for the upload.

I actually like this Hook even though it's not totally accurate as it might show us what Hook might look like with a faceplate over his mouth and it does that aspect really well as an alternative look. Mixmaster is one of the Constructicons that has 2 different style faces?! One with G1 style mouth and the other his IDW-like faceplate, so why not have one Hook I guess?! Also behind the NBH Hook's Devastator head is a tiny switch that lights his eyes up red!!! That's a awesome inclusion and probably the most unique alternative Hook guise-like variants out there.....
Hook is easily the most stylized and while you make some excellent points that I do agree with, I do wish the crane arm rested better. Fun fact - That little switch was lost on me as it is brilliantly inconspicuous but the owner of this set also didn't know it existed until I was done with the set and returned it to him.

Why did you take him apart? I wish I could help you, but this guy was on loan and I've never taken him apart.
