Alec, thank you for the review - excellent as ever. Well done (and greetings from up north in Edinburgh)! Two quick questions: Does the audio sync with video as it passes into Ecamm? I assuming they are discreet inputs but the syncing sure would be helpful. Second, I've tried using the KZ ZS10 Pro (per your kit recommendation) on the RCPII but get terrible noise from the headphone jacks regardless of varying the headphone sensitivity. Any suggestions? Cheers, Roy

Back again! This is pretty off-topic but while watching this stream I thought of another question that might be an interesting idea for you to touch on in future content. How would one wirelessly monitor? The specific use case I have is a whiteboard pretty far from my desk setup, and would be interested in not only using a wireless mic with something like the Streamer X/Rodecaster series but also having the ability to take questions over a video conference using a wireless monitoring solution? Am I overcomplicating this and should I just use a set of Bluetooth headphones or is there a better solution?

great channel, thanks. would you say that if I run my apollo twin through irigstream pro and don't need more than 1 mic input, that the streamer x would be somewhat superfluous?

Hi - Nice, thoughtful Q&A...thanks. Question...if I may. I picked up the Streamer X locally and while it does work, meaning the hdmi passthrough works and the ports appear in OSX Mac sound control panel, it will not recognize the device under Rode Central v 2.0.28. I've tried in on both Mac and PC...same thing. I noticed that you and another reviewer used v2.0.29 for while reviewing (beta). Is this version required for the device to be recognized under Rode Central? It's the only thing I can think of. Thought you might know. Regardless, thanks for the great hands on session.

It doesn’t seem to, but I wonder if the Streamer X has the mic processing presets, like the Rodecaster Pro does, for specific mics.

First off thanks for the stream, always a pleasure!
The use case I'm looking to prove out is the two PC support for the streamer x. I have two computers, a Windows machine (main) and Mac (secondary) for work and play needs. Does the main computer need to be running with rode software running for the routing to work for the secondary computer? For example, while actively using the Mac (secondary computer) with the Windows computer (main) sleeping. Would I still be able to route my XLR microphone from the streamer X to applications running on the Mac (secondary computer) and receive system audio from the Mac (secondary computer) into my monitors when the Windows computer (main) is sleeping?
From other videos showcasing the Rodecaster Pro II, I believe I can achieve the use case above with the routing table but it's not entirely clear if this is something that would be possible on the Streamer X. I guess we may need another session once Unify is available for Mac!

The usb pod mic I’m wondering if it can be connected to the RCP2 and be used as a 5th mic through the secondary USB port. Do you have any experience with that?

Do the DSP settings affect the XLR connection or only the USB-C? (I understand that you would need USB-C to talk to the mic).
Can this mic simultaneously provide an audio signal to both XLR and USB-C?

I noticed you are using a BETA version on Road Central so is this not currently supported on the non BETA version of the software? About to throw it out the window LOL!!! Hope someone can help please.

I got my streamer x a few days ago . Rode Central (2.0.30) recognises it and says it needs to update firmware but hen fails to do so. I have tried multiple USB c cables (including the one that came with the device). I have tried plugging into each of the 3 USBc ports on my MacBook Pro m1 (2021) but nothing works. I have even tried factory resetting the device but that fails too. I have contacted Rode support but got no reply.
    Anyone else having similar issues?

Great video - great presentation sir 👏👏👏
So, I am trying to get my Streamer X to work with/on my MacBook Pro.
I have connected the device and successfully installed the latest firmware.
I am able set the device as an audio input on my MacBook Pro and I can hear audio through the connected headphones and control the volume on the device.
The device is also detected by Zoom, Ecamm Live and OBS and appears as a selectable device. However, I do not have the ability to mute/unmute the audio or turn on/off video with the device. The software is ignoring the device as if it’s not connected.
I’ve swapped all cables with brand new ones.
Additionally HDMI is not useable with my Sony ZV E10. I get the screen with the Sony imaging webcam title. Only works with the USB cable connected but it’s clearly not using the Streamer X as the capture device for 4K.
    Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

Power off your Sony ZV E10 camera.
Access the camera settings and select HDMI Settings.
      Set the HDMI Resolution.
      Set Info Display to off.
Keep TC Output and Control for HDMI off.
Connect your camera to the capture card using an HDMI cable.

I purchased a Streamer X online from Sweetwater a few days ago, I received the shipment before Thanksgiving, and the shipment was fast. But looks like I was sent a defective item, I am in the process of returning it or getting a replacement. Out of the box it is not working, I have an M1 Mac Mini and when I use it with Rode Central or Unify, I receive a synchronization error. It also asks me to update the firmware and when I attempt to update Streamer X firmware it keeps giving me an error it says, "Could Not Update" and a yellow "RETRY" button appears. I have attempted this several times still no progress, I even attempted to do a factory reset and it would not. I connected everything directly to my M1 Mac Mini using the brick and the cable from Rode. At this point I do not know what else to troubleshoot, it shouldn't be like this. Did anyone have similar issues that they were able to get it to resolve?

    Hi Alec,
I have an issue with the smart pads, for which I cant find a solution:
When I press the smart pads, nothing happens (e.g. no sirene or sound is playing).
I started a Zoom Meeting, choose the Streamer X as the Audio input device, but when I press the buttons, nothing happens.
    Any thought on this? :)

Yes, you can can use wither your headset or headphones output on the Streamer X and then connect that into either the line in/mic in on the Yolobox.
The Rocdcaster Pro 2 / Duo both have dedicated monitor outputs... y
