ABOUT 'HIDDEN AWAY':
The film follows Rafa and Ibrahim, two teenage boys that befriend each other. Ibrahim is a Moroccan immigrant who does not want to return home. Lost and desperate in the streets of Bilbao, he meets Rafa. Rafa is a typical Spanish middle-class boy that is having problems with his friends and pressures around his sexuality. Once they meet each other, they become inseparable. Rueda captures their friendship as they navigate through Ibraâs deportation, racism and their identities.

I felt for the title so much.
I had a junior in my uni whom I'm really close to due to church. He is a year younger.
I never had any feelings for him, as didn't know he was gay and he was pretty much not my type (physically, I mean like he was not the handsome type and doesn't groom himself like most of the gays do).
One day I accidentally found out that he had gay porn in his laptop, and I was shocked. So, I knew he was gay but I didn't care much cuz he wasn't my type really, but he was slightly clingy to me, but im okay with that, I thought we were just friends.
As days went by, we did everything together, we got even closer, we started to cling to each other, and sometimes jealous, and had small fights over nothing.
I started to grow feelings for him, as he was very caring towards me, took care of me, and I didn't even realize I already liked him.
At college, others would see how we are sticking together, and would ask where is the other one if one is missing.
At some point, I think we both realized we were gay for each other, we had hints, but we never really spoke about it openly with each other as we're both Christians, with really strict and traditional families, and we're both the eldest sons in our families.
We basically did everything together except for kissing and intercourse.
Even up to this day, we call each other, text each other randomly, we care for each other, we update our own lives to the each other.
I didn't believe that I could love someone who's physically not my type. And now, I think he's the most important person to me, and I didn't wanna lose, although we both aren't in an official relationship.
And I realized when you're in love, physical attraction would just fade away, you care about the soul.
We both knew, but we remained silent, till now. And I still don't know what to do.
I love this story :) if you love him, then go ahead and love him. Even if you come from a religious family, it doesnât have to be super serious. Just make sure you always stay together. Keep hanging out with him, love him, be yourself. I recommend telling your family, but you do whatever feels comfortable for you. Iâm pansexual, and it took me a really long time to come out to my family and friends. But most of them were totally supportive and accepting. I donât come from a religious family, but I wish you the best of luck :)
@@serenac.7192 thanks! It's still bittersweet to me. But I'm thankful that we still appreciate each other a lot despite not talking about it openly, and we kinda have the same instinct of not bringing up this sensitive topic I miss being around him, we attended each other's graduation, visited each other's hometown, and slept on each other's bed in our respective hometown. Ah how time flies :)

BombyNation At this point I donât even cry. I get annoyed, so I donât even watch if I know it'll end tragically or if the movie trailer is overly melodramatic and depressing. Itâs frustrating when filmmakers perpetuate the idea that same-sex relationships are impossible - I donât support them at all. Yes it's still a struggle to be gay in many parts of the world and there is dark history, but we already have more than enough of those stories, especially in America and other safer parts of the world - I just wish there were more films depicting "successful" same-sex relationships. Many gay viewers say they sob when they watch tragic gay films and even like them. Truth is theyâre often the type of people who like to wallow in sadness, their minds feed off that negativity and emotional state, like feeling sorry for themselves. Itâs like society has conditioned us to think so depressingly about the prospects of a gay relationship. Not to mention if the movie isnât tragic, itâs often a overly stereotypical trashy one that depicts toxic gay culture.
You should watch Shadowhunters. The show isnât all about the gay relationship but they do end up happy but if you donât want to watch the whole show then you can just look up clips on CZcams the people names are Alec and Magnus. You will instantly fall in love with the couple they are adorableđ

Am just from watching this and it was so amazing. What ibra was going through at his age was just alot. When he didnt go on the train and instead went back to check if rafa was ok is when i started crying until the last scene. That love was so strong and pure that i felt it through the screen. Those two have the best chemistry i have seen in a bl movie. It was spectacular.
Honestly when ever Iâm in a deep position itâs always my boyfriend that helps me, so Iâm not really trying to hide the fact that Iâm gay, and if being gay means being the guy I am today then I can say, I wouldnât change one thing, (well maybe my abusive brother)
