THANK YOU for that comment on the dismissive nature of modern liberalism/democrats. I'd consider myself fairly centrist (in Ireland right wing parties and figures are still considered fairly left wing compared to England France and America) but I always love discussions and debates on political and social issues from Conservative and Liberal perspectives. Dismissive and condescending attitudes towards more Conservative views is not very different from fascist censorship.
Regarding books for prospect undergrads, I'd recommend any book by Fyodor Dostoevsky, particularly Crime and Punishment, Notes from Underground and The Brothers Karamazov. I feel it is vital to consider and contemplate the darker aspects of yourself and your psyche. It's spirituality enriching and that is an extremely overlooked aspect of self actualisation, growth and development.
(sorry for the rant haha. Awesome vid and if you see this I'd like to know your thoughts on 'I was Doctor Mengeles assistant' considering your interest in nazi Germany and the holocaust? I thought its insight was great but the writing itself was very pedestrian at times and not very well written)

Thank you for the additional recommendations! I haven’t actually read ‘I was Dr Mengele’s Assistant’ but I’ll definitely put it on my list of books to read!
