- It is that time of year! Watch as I catch a nice limit of crappie pulling crankbaits. It will only get better as the water warms.
I hope you enjoy the video!

Mike,
I use Livescope 95% of the time, but I’ll be honest, my favorite videos of yours are these crankbait videos! Love it!
I normally fast forward thru videos or don't watch the entire thing, BUT I watched this entire video and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Mike, thank you for your informative video. Not everyone wants to or can afford a live scope, love to see a person fishing the other ways. Your show influences my purchases.
Keep up the great videos. I've learned a lot helps thanks. Can't wait to meet you at the grizzly. Jigsaw hopefully you'll show up I'll be there this year
lots of white “croppie”😂… we call ‘em “crappie” down here in VA. awesome video, even if you speak a bit funny. 😊
We kill em around here pulling Orange Crush and Taco Salad, they can’t get enough of it.
Really enjoyed cranking. Refreshing without live scope. Not that I don't enjoy your live scope videos they are very informative and well done. It's just refreshing doing the old school thing. Thanks for sharing.
Love crank baits for crappies. I do the same all the way up in northern Wisconsin. Guess it works everywhere. I enjoy your channel , keep it up.
Mike, I was just a day behind you. I too got a limit on cranks, my best colors Saturday were pink, chartreuse shad, and sun perch, looks Luke we hit the same areas too
What crank baits you pullin? How fast you trolling and WhT depth you think they are running?
Hi Mike, thanks for putting together your videos. I moved to LOTO a year ago and bought a fishing boat. I was struggling with catching anything. You changed that for me. Appreciate it!
nice video mike. love the trolling ones, gotta be the first one I have seen where I didn't hear got one on the wild thang
I believe the bait he referred to as orange crush was "wild thing"
Glad you are back to pulling cranks!
Mike, love the trolling videos. Recently went back and watched your older ones. Look forward to more post spawn/summer cranking and Longlining jigs videos
Enjoy the vids mike still love old shool ways of. Crappie fishing it aint always gotta be about Live sonar so many of those out there now... 👍
Awesome video so far, only 10 minutes in & learning stuff... Just caught my first Crappie yesterday with Bandits at 1.4 with 44' to 72' of line. Biggest one was 13-7/8".
I lost quite a bit though & I think I know why, I was reeling in much slower & trying to keep them in the water, but it looks like it's better to bring them to the surface & just skate that body on the surface.
Sun perch & Jack-o-lantern was working for me.
Now I gotta figure out how to get more rod holders on my Bayliner VR4.
Congrats on your first one. I am sure there will be many more to come.
Great video. Thanks for posting it
I been long lining jigs for decades and i have never pulled cranks
Im gona try this this year!!
Thx Mike , great video i enjoyed it!!
Great video as always 🎣
Great video mr baker!
Freds baits are top notch!
Thank you for all your great tips
I always love your videos especially your crankbait trolling ones. One suggestion. You should remind everyone that if you're going to use more than three rods they have to have your name and address, or your conservation number as per the conservation regulations
I have a video on it.
Mike I love your crankbait videos. I do have one correction for you though. That bait you kept calling Orange Crush actually appears to be Wild Thing.
You are correct. My bad.
Good video Mike. Very informative and a joy to watch. Nice setup for trolling. Thanks for sharing.
I find it impossible to keep all my 3 pounders on. Enjoyed the vid.
I’ve been trolling a bandit, 200 series chartreuse, gray back, killing them
How fast you pullin and how deep are they runnin
Thanks for another good video Mike. It’s that time of the year
Good stuff Mike! I love your videos and learn something new each time I watch you! I plan on trolling Stockton a lot this year with what you have taught me and my buddies! God bless you sir!
Thanks for watching Buck! Good luck.
First time watching your video and I must say that’s awesome Mike
Glad you liked it. Hope you will subscribe and check out my earlier videos.
Like it sir
Thanks for a good informative video. I’m looking forward to seeing the videos on long lining jigs too. I’m not necessarily against live scope, but the videos using live scope are boring.
Looking forward to seeing more crank baits and jig trolling videos the live scope videos are not my cup of tea
I started trolling with bandits after watching one of your old videos. Caught some nice crappie. Have you ever had all 6 go at once? I use 4 rods and have had them all go. Can get interesting quick.
Yes!
Enjoyed the video! Do more minus livescope.
Mike have you ever pulled crawler harnesses for crappie? Clip off the back hook and tip with a minnow?
No, but I have trailed a jig with success
Mike I love your crankbait trolling videos what is a good rod holder for trolling
I use Driftmaster rod holders.
Mike, what’s the link for the crankbaits the fella sent you? Thanks
It is in the description.
Did you you mostly fish the deeper water? I tried some 15 feet water today with not much luck. I always enjoy your videos.
18 to 20 ft. was best.
What type of swivel and snap do you use when trolling to keep line twist down?
I discuss it at 16:20 in the video.
Mike does braid work for trolling crankbaits? Is it better to use mono/fluro/braid? Color matter? Thanks!!
I prefer high vis mono.
@@MikeBakerVideosthanks!
Another great video, Mr. Baker. What kind of rods are you using? If you don't mind me asking.
B n M Sam's Super Salt.
How much reduction in your drift speed do you typically see when going with the wind with the power pole paddles down vs paddles not down?
Not sure, but a lot. Depends on how deep you put the poles in the water.
Mike..what's your baseline settings for livescope lvs34 and garmin 106 echomap? Thanks for the great videos🎣🎣
Check out some of my earlier livescope videos.
How fast are you trolling?
1.6 is my std. speed.
What boat is that?
Sea Ark Protege
@@MikeBakerVideos looks sweet
How deep the baits runnin at 1.6 mph. I’ve got a bunch of arke 200 and Jenko crank baits.
18 to 20 ft.
