Not sure if you still read comments, but THANK YOU so much! I bought a second-hand mini fridge for $80, brought it home, installed it, and find out the door doesn't shut properly! Your video was the first that came up. $5 later for a pair of washers, and the door closes good as new. Thanks again.
Awesome this literally fixed my door my washer was so warn out on my old fridge I bought a new one and bam fixed my door issue ! Thanks man ! You need to make more videos !
Thanks a lot for your sharing! I watched your video last night and fixed the problem of my refrigerator door today. The door have been bothering us for a couple of months.
First I had a temporary fix with one plastic washer. It worn out quick. Last week I went to Walmart to get some metal washers. I used three new metal washers and re-did the door. Now the door closes even better! Hope that this time it will last long. Again, thanks a lot for your sharing!
@@ruotui Metal washers over time will "eat " the door making it uneven surface. You are supposed to use a washer which will wear over time and you can replace it, you don't want your to ruin the door's contact point ! Otherwise they would just use metal washers from the factory 😜
Thank you! Just bought a new fridge that's not closing properly but had switched the door side so maybe I lost the washer when I did that. Was about to return the dang thing but will just grab a washer and see if that fixes it 😊
Great video! Short and easy to understand. My refrigerator door has this problem. I cannot believe that is caused by washer only. What really makes refrigerator door to have the swing motion? Just wondering.
that is a very common issue Things to look for : Check the leveling legs. The front of the refrigerator should be slightly higher than the back, to allow the door to close normally. When properly adjusted, the door will close smoothly and firmly on its own.one very common problem is : Check to see if the refrigerator door gasket is sealing properly. If not, wash the entire gasket with baking soda and water (1 part baking soda to 3 parts water), especially on the hinge side.*help full tip if everything else is good try a little bit of Vaseline on the gasket to create a little bit of more suction to help close the door
With mine I loosened the three top bolts, lifted the fridge door up so that it was level with the top of the fridge body and then tightened the bolts down and it’s closing just fine now. Before I started the top door was higher on the hinge side. I would think that adding that washer would have made the problem worse.
Hi I need help adjusting both top and bottom doors do not close properly and the top one is misaligned. Can I send you a short video so that you can give me some advice? Thanks.
my issue was the door has the washer and still doesn't close by itself as it should. good vid if my washer was missing not so hot when it is there tho...
Hey Natalie it's the same for the bottom there would be a washer make sure that is okay , and make sure your hinges bolts are tight sometimes over time your hinge might become unaligned so you can try to move it with a hammer to get it back into its location it all depends on your situation I will make a video on that soon! Hope this helped you out a bit .
The Washer could be an issue but most likely in her case the hinge in the bottom of the refrigerator has misaligned over the years. A common way to fix that is to remove the bottom door and align the hinge to what ever side she needs it to move this is a great video to watch very informative czcams.com/video/3_fJSxFdw34/video.html
Even tho this works I think what he showed here would be for minor misalignments i would look to see if you could adjust anything else on the fridge if you are able to shift the door any way else like loosening any hardware and trying to move it that way before trying this.
Hey Phil this can definitely be one of the many things that can be causing the issue for your door because over time doors start to sag do to what we put in them. With out seeing it myself I cant really say much but I would say look at your fridge seal gasket as well it might be loose or old which can cause the fridge door to lose that seal tight vacuum closing capacity. keep me updated with what ever solutions you find to your issue! thank you.
Fast and concise instructions. No time-wasting rambling like other videos. Two thumbs up!
Thank you! I really appreciate the support !

We all put to much weight on the fridge door .. this will help out a lot of folks
I think that’s my problem, I have to much weight on the fridge door. Never had this problem before but I noticed it like almost 1 week ago.
is that washer at 0.57 a special one for that use? or any washer would do? is it special for fridges? Thanks
Maybe 5/8” nylon and steel washers
Thank you
Great video! Short and easy to understand.
My refrigerator door has this problem. I cannot believe that is caused by washer only. What really makes refrigerator door to have the swing motion? Just wondering.
I am glad that I was able to pass some good information to you !

Great fix! Can you provide the diameter (inner and outer) of the washer so that one can procure the replacement?
I would also like to know this

Before I started the top door was higher on the hinge side. I would think that adding that washer would have made the problem worse.
The bottom of my door seals against the frame, but the upper seal shows an air gap. Will new washers fix that?
Hi I need help adjusting both top and bottom doors do not close properly and the top one is misaligned. Can I send you a short video so that you can give me some advice? Thanks.
This is the exact same problem I have. I went to 2 different hardware stores and neither sell those kind of washers.
Is this a dealer part only?
just get a level and adjust the legs this works
What if it’s the bottom one
So my bottom fridge door is not closing at all i shut it and it literally wont stick. Is this the same way I can fix it?
Where do you get such a washer when you don't have an extra broken fridge next to you? 😃
@Ladybug Smith True Value Hardware. Tell them you need a silicone washer.
My Manuel doesn't show how, so thanks
it would have been nice to know if that was a metal or nylon washer. I'm assuming nylon.
Anyone know the ID and thickness of the washer?
my issue was the door has the washer and still doesn't close by itself as it should. good vid if my washer was missing not so hot when it is there tho...
Replace the washer .. they are damaged overtime .. simple 👍
@@chriscs9080 after two yrs the darn thing started working correctly....go figure.
I replaced my missing washer with washers homemade of plastic bottle parts.
When are you posting a video
what if its the bottom door thats not closing good?
Hey Natalie it's the same for the bottom there would be a washer make sure that is okay , and make sure your hinges bolts are tight sometimes over time your hinge might become unaligned so you can try to move it with a hammer to get it back into its location it all depends on your situation I will make a video on that soon! Will this fix work on a side-by-side full door refrigerator? Mine has stopped closing all the way.
Even tho this works I think what he showed here would be for minor misalignments i would look to see if you could adjust anything else on the fridge if you are able to shift the door any way else like loosening any hardware and trying to move it that way before trying this.
@@Neymar-qf6zk Thanks! I"ll look at a few things before attempting this fix.
I have the same problem but with the fridge door. Do you have a video for that? Thanks!
It's not rocket science, the hinges are identical
It's the same lol
Okay, I have the problem where the lower door won't stay closed. Will this fix address that problem?
Hey Phil this can definitely be one of the many things that can be causing the issue for your door because over time doors start to sag do to what we put in them. Thank you.
Where did you bought the parts?
True Value has bins of all kinds of parts. If not anywhere near a hardware store, cut some up out of plastic soda or milk bottles.
I’m having trouble with bottom door
Is that a whirlpool fridge?
I'm dealing with this bullshit just now
let me know how you resolve the problem! this video is just one example of the many things that can happen if a fridge door does not close correctly.
😆 degenerate classic
THANK YOU!!!!!
