The thing that made this injury so difficult was the fact that we were ascending. We were looking great and then everything went wrong.
Might sound crazy to say but JJ going down for a few weeks might have been the best thing ever for Addison's developement. There's no substitute for experience or the kind of mentoring he got from a superstar like JJ.
Vikes was 2-8 with the "goat jj". Bro should've never played at all and Vikes woulda made playoffs.

I remembered the 49ers game. Worked an 4-9 and looked at the score on the way home almost knowing it would be 30-0.

I’m not one to speculate “what if’s” but I do think the Vikings would have made a huge run if Cousins stayed healthy!
I don't think it's really speculating when it comes down to it. The inconsistency at QB is what caused the team to falter as the season progressed. The defense was on the field longer, which strained the playbook and the players. On offense the playbook had to be simplified due to a rotating door at QB which in turn made it easier to defend. Then the injury bug hit and it caused a death spiral they couldn't get out of. Hopefully in the offseason they get the QB of the future so someone can learn under Kirk and make this team a scary destination to play.

The Monday night game was mine and my son's 1st game in Minnesota. I've watched them for 40 years of my life. Its hard to even put into words the experience of that place. Its magical to say the least. If your a Vikings fan and have never been, you must go at least once.
From the time JJ got injured all the way up to his return, Addison was like our temporary JJ

Everyone even JJ never believed Kirk was a top qb till he got hurt. 😢 I think KOC knows he needs Kirk to have any type of success this year.
Games 1-5 felt like an inverse of last season where just 1 or 2 things changed the game. After we lost Kirk and JJ, even with the win streak it just didn’t feel like the Vikings had an identity which maybe helped them at first. But once the gimmick was over we didn’t stand a chance.

The offensive Coordinator position was a revolving door under Zimmer. Kirk never had two consecutive seasons with the same OC. We now know that Zimmer was an insufferable prick that nobody had respect for. Also, Zimmer's once great defense became the worst in the NFL. Predictable. It's easy to blame the QB, even when he's putting 30+ points on a board, but it was Zimmer driving the ship, and he alone sank it.

@@LewStewls Well said. His defense got worse every year. The passing defense dropped from 2nd to 5th to 18th to 27th to 28th. The rushing defense went from 2nd to 13th up to 7th down to 15th to 26th. In 2022, the total defense was 31st. He also had a winning season every other year and had a 1-2 playoff record before Kirk.

Why do people still use such dumb arguments? Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat. Just because the team didn’t win doesn’t automatically mean the quarterback played bad. What was Stafford's playoff record with the Lions? Hint: he was 0-3 in 12 seasons and had 74-90-1 win-loss record. Did he just magically improve the year he went to the Rams and won a Super Bowl?
