Hawthorn would be wrapped to run into Geelong in the second week of finals. (Not that I am dismissing the dogs, they are scary when all elements come together) But the loss to Geelong was on their landing strip of a home ground. The Hawks exploit the space at the G like no other team this year.
@@user-dj2xn I get that, but looking deeper than just the end results, it makes sense. It was in the first three games that they played on the G. Hawks were always going to take time to gell with a lot of new players. (I thought it may take 3/4 of the year) The backline took a while to get organised and the forward line had four out of six new players in it. The result is almost irrelevant, even Geelong are a very different team from that day Even then the scoring shots were close to even. At Kardinia Park the Hawks were missing key personnel, Mitch Lewis got injured during the game. And there is just no width to work over their aging side. I am way more scared of the dogs, a side the Hawks beat pretty comfortably. If their three tall forwards plus English start taking contested marks inside 50 the Hawks defence will be stretched. Time will tell, I guess.
If I'm not mistaken... Hawthorn has just moved into that premiership window that Foxtel's On The Couch uses. Sydney just moved out... 3 teams are inside the window and they finished 5th, 6th and 7th on the ladder. Wow.
After the home and away season I wouldn't be surprised if one team wins every final game by 100+ while also i wouldn't be surprised if someone did a bulldogs 2016. Been a wild season
Fantastic wrap up as usual, glad the season is over, now comes the fun and spectacle of trade n draft oh and finding a new coach will help I guess 🤔. Looking forward to your finals wrap up. 💙💛🦅🏆
I don't think the Brownlow is that cut and dried. There are some Smokeys. Bont is an obvious one that was not in your top three, not that he would be a smokey. Butters will poll a lot of votes, he is always in ports best three in wins. While I don't think he can win, Hayden Young always stands out in Freo games, Seeing had a much better start but Young is the highest rated midfielder in the comp in the last seven rounds. Umpires tend to not give votes to players unless they have performed for a couple of years. So I am just looking at Young for future reference. Same with Dylan Moore. Almost always in Hawthorns best two or three win or lose. With no team running away with too many wins, there could be surprises.
Hey Jesse, just thought I would ask if you know any NMFC youtubers who you might recommend, other than True Footy, my partner supports the roos and is looking for a content creator to get behind for his team if you might have any recommendations. :)
Hey Samantha! I actually don't think I'm personally aware of any NMFC channels. My friend Jay from the Centre Square is a staunch Roos fan but their content is AFL/Supercoach generally. There may be some podcasts around I'm sure - not sure about CZcams tho!
Take the WA emotional factor out of it and looking at it objectively, Freo simply didn’t deserve to play finals and simply weren’t good enough. Losing their last 4 and also dropping the 1st western derby, no one deserves finals with that. Saying that they’re young and with Bolton and Baker joining they’ll be top 4 soon and competing for the flag

interesting thing to say about the team who beat them twice

With Hawthorn they have 7 goalkickers with 20+ so the diverse options are elite

Finally managed to get another 100% tipping week last week. 15.5 points for the round. Let's the run continues in the finals.
Hawks kicked 6 goals in last 8mins of game in da wet, absolutely insane 😮

Neale is winning it again
I don't follow the Brownlow enough to have a definitive opinion on the top 3 favourites - I'm sure you're right here. Would love to see Bont win it
What on Earth did I just watch over the weekend... *Blinks*...
West Coast only won the second half because Geelong purposely played one man down in the second half.
Nah WC are just better ;)
Hottest team in the comp, let’s go Hawks live da dream 🎉
Sam Mitchell would still need to win 3 flags for the Hawks as coach to equal Michael Tuck's 7.
Good point. The captain/coach dynamic makes it different but you're right that's hard to beat haha

@@TrueFootyAFL thanks Jesse. I'll do a little digging. :) Cheers.
When you talk about Sam Mitchell, people tend to forget he is a brownlow medalist.
He’s not a real Brownlow medalist
@@kokmuncher6702 idk bro but I feel like he won a brownlow, idk though

Conor Nash with a moustache

That's a new one haha
2 Flags for Hawks as coach and Mitchell definitively becomes the best Hawthorn recruit of all time. A single flag is far from a guarantee.
Sam Mitchell was more of a west coast legend
