Being a stutterer my self I wrote to Mel and received a 2 page handwritten response from Mel who is a giant in the country music business and a mega- lovely man who has inspired millions of people with a speech impediment by this giant. Mel- your fans love you and will miss you but we still have your recordings and videos like this one that show your wicked sense of humor! 5:06

I love this era of country music. Not only for the fact that music is so good but for how all these singers were so dang funny. Mel Tillis, Merle, Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash and so on. They were always joking around. Reminds me of my Dad.

I had a Horrible stutter that I was grateful to get rid of (mostly.) But when I hear people like Mel speak, I feel heart broken that they weren't able to get past it as well...

Mel seemed fine with it as far as we know. As he says, he made a lot of money. I always think it's amazing that Mel and others with speech impediments sing like birds. I guess Job chap 1 v 21

As a lifetime stutterer .... m-m-m-myself. With me, it comes and goes. Somedays I don't stutter at all and other days I'm f-f-f-full of it. I'm the first one to make fun of my speech impediment :D

    • @Hethra19

@@emmalouie1663 it's actually the brain using different parts to do each task. Singing and speaking are handled differently, so whatever wiring might cause stuttering or stammering when speaking aren't used, or are bypassed, when singing. The same can happen with just reading aloud from something written down, same outcome (mouth makes words), but different parts of the brain doing the work

Hey Baby...w-w-why don't you give your 'ol-'ol-'ol horse a rest...Cuz' there ain't no use in us...ttt-trying to wear out your brand new sss-saddle. Then Mel belts out: "Well...I got the Horse and you got the Saddle. We like to ride side by side." The Best! Thank God for musicians like of Mel Tillis, Roy Clark, and Glen Campbell. The list can go on and on...for sure. But the best of them were sitting right there together in this show!
