    My wife, son and I just completed a 3 hour walking tour of DC with Rob. To say it was great is an understatement. Rob had us interested and captivated the entire time. He's full of fun and interesting facts you would never learn otherwise. Everything from the lengths FDR went through to cover up his polio to why some monuments have running water and others feature just still water.
    I'm bringing my Vietnam Vet/history buff Dad back so he can experience what I just did.
    Do yourself a favor and book the same 3 hour walking tour with Rob. You won't regret it.

    I think it is hilarious that people in VA have better access to DC's two major airports than People in DC.

    Hi rob, I used to fly into Dulles for years, but then they got rid of the Washington flyer so I went to Reagan and its so quick and easy. Cabs are cheap and my hotel shuttle.

    I usually fly into DCA and took a cab to Bethesda. On my return trip, I realized my hotel was by the Metro station and took the Metro to DCA. It was fine. I have flown into BWI for business in Annapolis, so not a DC trip. But my return flight was from DCA because it was an earlier flight than my original BWI flight. I had a rented car and the traffic around the DC area was something else. I did make my flight though.

    We flew out of Dulles last December and paid a normal taxi from close to the White House and the cost was $75 + tip...it is a lot further out of tow than we were expecting, but because we were travelling at 6am there was no traffic getting out there

    I’ve flown to IAD and DCA. DCA is my pick as I get get a direct flight to DCA from GRR.

    When we visit family in DC, we use a direct flight on Delta from Detroit to National. We are lucky to have my son or his wife pick us up from the airport, but thanks for the tip about using a cab instead of Uber if we need to. Too bad that Uber has become so expensive.

    MARC only departs once an hour (2 off peak) and Union Station is on the red line. So you possibly could wait an hour or more for MARC only to have to ride two Metro trains. OTOH the silver line departs every 12 minutes or so and cuts straight through DC.
    Also one note, Metro's operating hours mean you can't take it if your plane gets in after midnight, and since it opens at 7 AM on weekends you can't take it to an early departure. There are early morning buses to DCA but not to the other two (at least, I didn't see any last time I checked).

    Flying into DCA trumps both airports. It’s worth it if you’re staying right in DC, this is of course if you can pre clear.

    That’s awesome. I had a lay over in Dulles last month flying to BWI in June and flying out of Reagan in June also.
    Getting from Baltimore to D.C. would you go with MARC or Amtrak, and yes I’ll watch the video.

      If cost matters go with MARC. For maximum speed go with whatever comes first.

      @sebastianjoseph2828 Před rokem

      I'd second going with MARC. Do keep in mind, Baltimore has two train stations on 2 separate lines. The Penn Line is the most common and fastest, and takes you to Penn Station north of Inner Harbor. The Camden Line only runs passenger service on weekdays, but takes you to right near the stadiums, the convention center, and Inner Harbor.

    Best advice in here is to take a regular cab instead of Uber/lyft from DCA. BUT, follow along with your cabbie to make sure the route makes some sense. Don’t think the statement regarding airline dominance is accurate, though…AA clearly dominates DCA (at least by movements).
