- I picked a boxed curriculum from Impaq for 2024 as a homeschooling mother in South Africa. I give a grade 1 curriculum unboxing and flip through in this video, to give a look at what the content looks like. I share my views as well as to why I am using a secular curriculum as a christian.
My intent with this video is to be a resource for you if you are homeschooling or interested in knowing how to homeschool especially in South Africa.

@@refilwe-matshivha Thank you. I missed a webinar for foundation phase homeschoolers and wanted to ask about assessments and portfolio tasks. I have seen that some appear in the facilitator guide. I have also been told that we capture term marks on the online learner portal - there are criteria tables in the assessment files and the likes, but I always feel like there is something I am missing. I would really appreciate it if you did a series on that: formal assessments per term and capturing on the portal, as well as more on portfolio tasks. Hope I'm making sense. Thanks in advance🙂

My son doesn’t get enough sleep his only 10 I feel guilt every morning when he leaves at 5:15 am
Give it a try a mommy, it will be well worth it. 5:15 for a young boy is a stretch.
Loved your video, definitely will be using impaq also for my grade 1. Can you help me understand here my boy is almost 5, i was planning to do grade R for him this year and Grade 1 next year do you think impaq will allow admission to grade 1 if he will be turning 6 next year? Are they strict with the age?
If he turns 6 before June they will allow him but if it's between July-Dec then they will suggest he does grade R first. Remember with homeschooling you do have the flexibility of moving at your child's phase. If your boy is highly competent with grade r work move him to grade 1.

Hi, I requested them to call and apply telephonically its easier and faster. after the phone call my daughter was registered and i waited a day for the quote to be able to make payment. After payment it took a day and everything was done. hope i've answered your question.

@@refilwe-matshivha please could you share why you won't use it next year? I've just registered my grade 1 with impaq, Jesus I hope I haven't made a mistake.... Stressed mum
@@leannegovender4110 no don't stress i'm mainly not going to use it because I want to save money by creating my own curriculum. My kids and I prefer an eclectic approach over a boxed curriculum. Use it and see whether it will work fro you.

Hi, my husband and I were convicted by the Lord to homeschool our children so we could teach them our values. That is why we chose to homeschool. We were part of a co-op last year but i didn't continue with it this year because it was overwhelming for me to go every Wednesday with my toddler but I would love to go back next year cause he will be 4 and able to participate in the activities.
There are a number of homeschool groups to join some just for sports or socialising and some include academics like Classical conversation.
