16 year old Marissa gives touching eulogy for boyfriend, Chris, who was killed by a drunk driver

- Marissa was my brother Christopher’s girlfriend. She was the victim of a drunk driver crash on 12/17/21. Marissa and my mom, Dawn, were the only two survivors. My sweet, innocent, full-of-life youngest siblings, along with the selfish drunk driver, did not survive the crash. Marissa, only 16 years old, bravely delivers a heartfelt eulogy for her dear Christopher, despite still suffering from her own injuries. Please do not drink and drive.

Sometimes we tend to forget Marissa due to not being a sibling. She is broken as well. I know the family loves her.
What brought me to tears was how she described his feelings towards each of his remaining siblings. She didn’t only talk about her relationship with him, but his relationships with everyone that he loved.
I agree with you and she mentioned that just so his siblings could know how he felt and give them some guidance through this by knowing so. ❤
Christopher was clearly a gentleman and this young lady clearly adored and loved him.

He should check your tires and oil without you even asking. Buy your dad a soda while on a date with YOU. Be goofy, nerdy, and smart and have a close/strong relationship with his family. He was a catch at only 17 so can you image what a wonderful young man he'd have been later in life. The knowledge that his future was stolen from him is crushing and just plain heartbreaking. My heart extends to his family and friends always.
My heart hurts so so much for her. Can u imagine the pain she is gonna go thru for the rest of her life. You can tell he was her world and vice versa. No matter who she meets later on in her life, she will always be searching for him. God touch her and help her

Not only can you tell from this speech that their relationship was pure, that they were definitely soulmates, and that she will forever remember him but you can tell how much he loved her. My heart hurts for everyone in the family and friends who are mourning this loss.

What a sweet girl, I can see why Christopher loved her, any good-hearted young man would. I’m so glad they got time together, even if it was so short. She’s so lovely to talk about everyone and how much Christopher loved his family. She really showed us all how good his souls is. I hope she lives a good life and can come to have peace with this tragedy.
This young man would have been an amazing husband and father some day. These two kids weren’t just boyfriend & girlfriend. They were best friends. And she will have his memory as a building block forever.

It’s okay, and it’s fine to move on as you accept your loss and grief. She’s only 16, do you honestly expect her to sit around forever, depressed and grieving, instead of moving on ? She survived, she SHOULD live life to the fullest. She SHOULD fall in love again. Meet a husband, have children. And it’s perfectly fine and normal and doesn’t make her a bad person but a normal one.
She will absolutely NOT forget him. You can tell the love she had for him. Their memories will live on with her for forever! That’s what love does to someone!

I don't think so!! I lost someone real close to me and yes you move on but it can take ages alot of alcohol in your system and you still don't forget them. I've been there. But God help me through my grief. Australia
I lost my high school sweetheart & soul mate in a similar tragedy. Life goes on & you try to find a new normal, but no other love will ever compare. Nearly 20 years later, my heart still aches for him & the true love we shared.💔
Marisa's love for Chris is so pure. I hope she is embraced by everyone who loves her & still remains close to Chris' family. I will never understand why such horrific events happen, especially to innocent young people. My heart goes out to everyone devastated by this preventable tragedy.❤️

I've never heard a eulogy like this...10 minutes of a sad little girl reminiscing about all of the good times she's had with, not her boyfriend, it doesn't sound like that. Her best friend, her soulmate. She truly loved him; and to lose someone that close to you, at that young of an age, their lost loved one being equally young, in such a horrifically senseless way. So many of her memories with him involve the other two sisters who were lost, as well. Man...
I know she'll get better; she's young and she'll heal with time and help. But still. This is so devastating; it will always just _be_ there. I don't understand how someone could risk hurting people in such a profound way, as opposed to simply not driving when you could've gotten a damn Uber. I know he lost his life as well, and that is horrible. But _look_ what _his_ poor choice did to people who had _nothing_ to do with him and never should've felt any effects.
Even Christopher's brother, in one of their facebook lives, mentioned that when the time comes that Marissa meets someone and begins to move on, they don't want her having to feel guilt about loving someone else, particularly since she was only 16 when she lost Christopher, but they knew she truly loved him and her heart is broken.
Lord I'm crying like a baby seeing those 3 caskets and hearing Marissa's eulogy.
She did spectacular under such a sad and stressful time. She was funny and strong and brave. She brought some of Chris' personality and mannerisms to life.
Clearly he was being raised right and was a chivalrous, warm hearted, and very thoughtful young boy.
I will never understand why things like this happen to good people, young people. But his family and friends are clearly better people having had him in their life for 17 years.

What a sweet relationship they had! I’m so happy they experienced this love, no matter how short. I delivered one of the eulogies at my fiancé’s service. His family continues to include me and I hope that she is always a part of yours. I wish I could give you all hugs.
My heart hurts for her... When I was sixteen my boyfriend got run over by a semi when his car broke down on the side of the interstate... Almost 40 years later and I still think about him to this day. My prayers go out to this whole family.

I wrote my fiances eulogy when he passed away suddenly because his parents just couldnt function understandably, so i tried to take care of as much as i could..it was the most heart wrenching thing ive ever done. Getting up in front of people, trying not to cry while talking about someone you love who is no longer there is indescribable💔. Praying for all of you🙏❤️

I lost a loved one to a drunk driver and I almost lost my own life while pregnant to a drunk driver. I walked away and My baby came a few months later. My car was totaled; the front engine was completely gone. Everyone around me was in disbelief. My condolences to all of you...I pray for healing and God truly blessed you all with a beautiful family. Such strength it takes to become closer in a time of heartache.
Twice I've been in a car rear-ended ended while we were stopped by drunk drivers. Neither spen a day in jail. 2nd time, 2vyrs ago, he never even got arrested, much less jail. My docs are still trying to save my eyesight 2yrs out.

I found myself cheering her on as she went and tears are streaming down my face as their shared jokes are also such treasured memories. I thank the Simmons family for sharing this such challenging time in life. I know people who will benefit from the message even though I know it is hard to share… and to hear. May you all be blessed and comforted as only our Lord can.

That poor child. I mean that I'm the sweetest most sincere way possible. They were soulmates and they were so blessed to know that love from one another. Christopher sounds like an amazing young man that any parent would be blessed to have and parent be blessed to have their daughter love. I'm glad she and your mom survived. I hope she's doing okay now. Therapy, love and support and God goes a long way. Thank you for sharing these videos with us. I'll be keeping you all in my prayers. It was so endearing to speak of him so sweetly and innocently. She represented their lives together as being so light and full of fun and not concerned with growing up too fast (like so many young people do these days). I love that she spoke of the many traits she loved about him from being silly and goofy to caring and responsible. She did a wonderful job of sharing parts of his personality that stood out to her and should be so proud of herself for maintaining such composure during this incredibly difficult situation.
My heart is heavy for this family, I can’t begin to know what losing a loved under such traumatic circumstances would be like. My heart and mind can’t wrap any kind of understanding around losing 3 in this way. I wish I could wrap them all up in a loving hug and try in anyway possible to ease even the smallest bit of their pain.

I was seriously injured in a crash from a dd hitting the car I was in 23 years ago - It’s still happening, whatever we’re doing isn’t working to get through to people not to drink and drive 🙄 So many lives lost in a heartbeat because of someone else’s reckless decision 🤯

Christopher is in Heaven and he is at peace he will always be with you in many different ways he will let you know he is there if you want him to be. I find dimes in the most random of places and at a time when I am needing help or an answer from my father who passed. He sends me dimes to say hi, i love you or to say stop worrying everything will be okay. I hope you have a beautiful life sweet Marissa and always carry the love of Christopher in your heart.
