Harper was essentially a Western Dictator.
Harper worked to systematically destroy the rights and civil liberties of the Canadian citizenry by changing and stripping parts of the 'Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom'. He worked to de-fund and devalue pretty much any government incentive and assistance for anything to do with the Arts (the kind that builds and defines the culture of a country) on the basis that, and I paraphrase, 'It was useless and we didn't need it'. His government was responsible for and for passing the 'Anti-Terrorism Act' Bill C-51, which is Canada's version of the 'Patriot Act' in the United States. And that's not even getting in to the environmental and economic damage that he did to the country either.
Harper was all about stuffing his pockets with as much money as he could get his grubby little hands on by selling out as much of Canada and its citizens as he could get away with.

Hey Otaku I was wondering if you could do a video about Bias b/c people seem to think that having a Bias is a bad thing, when in reality it's only bad if you let it prevent you from giving the fact properly, if that's too much for a video, maybe your though's on people like John Oliver or Adam Conover(Adam Ruins Everything) :)
Also maybe I missed something here but, I believe the pipeline is better then how Canada used to ship oil, which was by train. Train disasters involving oil could cause more environmental problems then a pipeline cracking(in fact most people protesting on the land could crack the pipeline easily by walking on it too much lol :D). Sure it not the best thing for the environment, but it does create jobs :D It will take a while for Oil to be phase out completely as alot of people in the west heavily rely on oil for sources of energy(I'm saying this as a person who lives in the west) I just wish the people in the east would understand that we don't have access to all the more environmentally friendly energy sources b/c it still very expensive to spend money on it. Of course BC made it clear they don't want the pipeline(which they can't really stop no matter how much they try) and Manitoba's premier acted really childish to Trudeau's environmental plan. Of course we need to change our habit of using oil for everything(including government money) but it may not happen as fast as people want it too.
I do really like that you did use CBC for some of your sources as some people seem to believe that it also carries a very Liberal bias,Yes some of the people who work there maybe have liberal views but when it comes to reporting the news they are very neutral. CBC is also one of the few publicly owned news stations in Canada(which the modern Federal Conservative party doesn't seem to like so they keep trying to defund and being out the Liberal bias accusations against them, as if to say people don't want it.

The canada child benefit already existed before trudeau and the amount I received for my child was drastically higher before Trudeau changed the way the benefit was calculated. I also used to be able to claim my child on my taxes and got a $2500 credit. Before Justin was elected I could claim my child as a dependent, because she depends on me to live. Maybe I'm just a lazy slug, but I tend to be pessimistic about just how much I can legitimately verify this type of information on my own. Even if I try to look it up, for all I know I could run into nothing but skewed and misleading sources on it. And this is a problem I see in politics constantly, with people being expected (and often all too willing) to come up with completely uninformed, knee-jerk judgments on issues where expertise seems to be needed for a sufficient understanding of everything at stake.

Much of what Harper was doing did not require a high degree of secrecy, however, he chose to do that for reasons that should have concerned any democracy-loving, intelligent individual. Canada is our country. We are NOT North Korea. Do you know who Kim Jong-Il is? Jong-Il is a pathetic dictator who controls the people of his country. Harper represented a more subtle version.

Seriously. All he meant was that economic growth will cause the budget to get balanced eventually; which is what literal economist like Harper say. Harper spent during the great recession and said if necessary he would do it again. Justin felt it was necessary and he got in power. Him explaining it this way is politically inept, but economic growth being required to balance a budget is conservative ideology as well as Justin's.

Love this video. I think the overarching point here is Canadians must, more than ever, stay vigilant and engage in criticism of our politicians based upon their actions, and hold those actions accountable to those politicians' self-identified values. This video also articulates how many Canadians have been left out in the cold over the last 13 years due to extreme policy pursued by both the political right (former Prime Minister Stephen Harper) and the political left (current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau). Perhaps if Trudeau had kept his campaign promise of electoral reform, these effectively disenfranchised Canadians might have a chance to see the realization of balanced and rational Federal policy again.

Look at the Mcgill speech, Justine's head motions are as predictable as an oscillating fan, he is totally scripted Manchurian candidate repeating his programing word for word. Trudeau's trigger word is Islam and instantly Islamophobia comes up and some moral rant about equality. Your analogy is totally wrong on Steven Harper, Harper slid us through the 08 global recession practically unscathed. In the west we barely felt a speed bump in the work market. Harper tightened the belt in areas that hurt in an attempt to restrain us back on track. What did the liberals do? Wasted hundreds of millions on trying to over turn the Conservative Gov, and nothing happened to their benefit.

I really dislike the way Trudeau talks to people. Slow, methodical, emphasizing certain words and using a soft mellow tone, instilling guilt on everyone, emphasizing humanity, especially for opposition on M-103 and Islamophobia. Then, when he is questioned on his electoral promises, he ignores the true question about fulfilling those promises with an arrogant tone, while condemning someone and undermining the person, for the question. I get the impression that Trudeau honestly thinks that Canadians are kindergarten students and he needs to teach us how to be human and we are slow to understand. As for Trudeau constantly stating he is a Feminist....he isn't. He just states it. In fact, he seems to want us to believe it unconditionally, just because he says it. If he fully supports the Islam way of life, with their culture, beliefs and religion, then he is definitely not a Feminist. Trudeau contradicts himself far too often. As much as I dislike Kathleen Wynne and what she is doing to Canadians, I felt sorry for her when she was sitting in the corner of the hall in the Mosque, wearing a head scarf and no shoes. She wasn't allowed in. Trudeau for the Feminist, he adamantly states he is, should have stood up for her. She is a woman and a member of the Canadian Parliament. There is no way she should have been subjected to such humiliating rejection. Trudeau says one thing and does another....repeatedly.

12:30 "For all of the genuinely evil shit Harper did to Canada", "he led Canada through the 2008 great recession mostly unscathed".
What do you mean by that? Do you mean Canada had the best job creation record in the G7? Did Canada then receive a 'AAA' credit rating, drastically reducing the interest on Canadian debt? Did Harper's "mostly unscathed" leadership add 1 million new jobs to the Canadian economy (Cda. population is 37 million)? Didn't he reduce sales tax by 2% on every single purchase made in the country? AND he increased health care funding to record levels? Oh, and record high levels of Provincial transfer payments. Didn't he also deliver a balanced budget from a $60 billion deficit? Oh, one more thing, C02 emissions went down under Harper's conservatives. So... yeah, "mostly unscathed".

      @HolyEyeWasHere Před 7 lety +9

He ran deficits during a global economic recession and then gradually balanced the books without creating service cuts to Canadians. At the time, the NDP and Liberals criticized him for running *too small* of a deficit.

There is some of us that wish Harper was still PM. Keeping in mind the U.S.is not worrying about Carbon, does anyone think Harper would Carbon Tax Canada? Oh Yeah, Harper was educated in ECONOMICS while Trudeau was educated in DRAMA TEACHING PART TIME. Yes that would be the REASON.

I really don’t like that palm tree in the Caribbean. It reminds me of some rich 1% sitting on the beach smoking $100 bills.
Anyhow, Trudeau has turned out to be a major disappointment in the same vein as Hillary Clinton and Obama. He is a bit of a lame duck who hasn’t implemented anything positive for our economy. In fact if anything he has made the economy much worse. Canada is an oil country and the Canadian dollar is closely tied to the price of oil...even if Trudeau doesn’t want to believe or admit that.
Trudeau approved a few oil pipelines only to have them locked up entirely in environmental battles with environmentalists. Trudeau could clear up these Pipeline deadlocks quite easily if he wanted to. The battle between AB and BC over the Trans-Mountain Pipeline has stopped everything dead in its tracks...something the AB NDP probably doesn’t mind all that much even if they pretend otherwise.

Worst alot worst...would Obama welcome back Isis fighters with open arms? and give millions too one? Would Obama open boarders for any illegals to enter? Canada was diverse in the past, Difference now is no effort to integrate or to slow down.
been noticing more lately the new comers don't even stand for anthem.. even more disrespecting they take advantage of our welfare programs while working under the table. since Turdeau has been in office crime has gone up along with the price of living. There's been a migration of Canadians moving out of city hubs where refugees&illegals are dumped off like Toronto or even worst Brampton. Canada is becoming Sweden 2.0

That was only for the cameras. Totally just acting the part of the brave and transparent leader ready to meet fair criticism and answer it honestly. Except he didn't answer him at all, he just used it as an opportunity to give a meaningless campaign speech and essentially dismissed it. But to try to shut the guy down at an open meeting would look bad and emphasize that he has no answer, is afraid of the question. That was basically a prescripted response to any question about the deficit that his handlers prepared beforehand for when that was asked. No bravery involved other than getting up in front of people to lie to them, which is a primary requirement for anyone in Western politics.

@@justforever96 Fair point. Though here in America he would have just been shouted down and escorted out by security. Biden might have even challenged him to a fight afterwards. lol...
But you're right, it was likely just done for appearances to give the impression he cares. Because his actions speak louder than his words, and Trudeau has proven he could care less about free speech with the policies he's enacted.

Interesting fact I’m trying to wrap my head around: The Quebec pension fund owns the majority of the SNC Lavalin shares and one of the biggest clients of SNC Lavalin is Saudi Arabia. Now I’m beginning to understand why Quebec is against the Energy East Pipeline and why Saudi Oil is exempted from Carbon Tax and why Trudeau has such a big stake in these matters. What’s next? Energy West Pipeline to move Saudi oil to the West???
Somebody owns Trudeau & Quebec and they’re not doing a very good job if little ole me can figure this out.
