I've thought about doing one of these luxury-motor powered hot rods, but had always brushed it aside as being too complex. But you have managed it, and quite a badass machine it is!
very odd combo for a rat rod... but mad respect for using a M127 benz motor,nice to see some individuality, when most people flock to the crate GM bullshit
@TheHotRodRealtor The ZF 5 Speed was like the holy grail of transmissions at the resto shop I worked at. I think in 13 years, only saw three of them. 1 in a 300se coupe one in a 300se cab and one in a 250 or 280sl.The cut off on what we worked on mostly was the early '70s though. Hey, when are you post a vid of that thing going down the road??
this is very confusing.... is that a om606 or om603 diesel with spark plugs????? im not unserstanding whats going on here, i see the diesel injector pump, but i also see the dizzy and plug wires and such. did you convert a diesel to run on gas?
Very cool Benzratrod!! Thats a great motor at high RPMs, and they are made to do it. Nothing sounds like it at speed. What are you runnin for a transmission? I've got a wrecked turbodiesel that i have thought about stuffing into a model T. Make a driving video of this if you haven't yet...

is this a petrol/diesel engine??? start it on petrol then switch to diesel?? looks like it has an injector pump and a dizzy on it ???
gas engine with mechanical fuel injection some Mercedes came with it like the gullwing for example
