Honestly, I want an entire TV show about her. Her as the main character. I dont care if they make her a protagonist or antagonist but she wasn't all wrong.
Fun Fact: If some one is a main character they’re the protagonist of the story and the antagonist is their enemy. That doesn’t necessarily mean the protagonist is good and the antagonist is evil. So if she was the main character of the story she would be the protagonist no matter what she did.
It was so painful watching her being disappointed in the world, being hurt by everyone and everything and breaking apart and changing into the person with nothing but ashes in the place where her heart was before.
Yes, I was so sad when I saw what happened to her, because she still has potential to be a good person. But she didn't have someone to guide her like how Merlin had his mother and Gaius.
He's being told all the time that he has to hide his identity. And I'm like no just shines through little baby and live your truth. If Merlin was actually honest to Morgana and say hey I have magic. Its okay. Do you want to study and save Arthur together.

Yeah I stay with a character good and bad. I honestly think (and you can disagree) that the villians are almost always better than the heroes. Cause they have a reason for being evil, but the heroes are always either boring or not even a hero just in a better situation than the villian. Long live Morgana!

I find myself rewatching this video over an over again and just really caught thinking about how tragic her story was (and also just how FREAKEN beautiful Katie McGrath is). I really believe that Morgana and Arthur should have had like a conversation and Morgana should have realized that she became a villain and she should have worked together with Merlin to save Arthur and then accepted whatever punishment they wanted her to have. THIS! I can really see where she is coming from and I can understand the hatred she has, its very relatable. But her betraying everyone who cared for her was inexcusable. It would have been better if she killed Uther and helped Merlin put Arthur on the throne, as well as protect Arthur. That's a lot more believable for the Morgana we met at the beginning of the show.
I think that Morgues twisted her mind and put her against them, so that she can have Morgana all to herself. She most likely drove her insane. She filled her with hate.
I agree that she betrayed everyone who have ever loved her not because of Merlin's or Uther's actions in series But it's like... Uther was the one who raised her and probably was trying to teach her to be as cruel as he was... You make a good point, but she was not forced to betray all her other friends that had nothing to do with that. Perhaps she was the only one who could have been able to prove to Uther that magic is not evil, instead she proved the opposite. People make there own choices no matter what happened to them. But I guess you can't really expect that in a show that is about destiny. 😂
It's my headcanon that morgause like magically influenced her mind or smthn to make her this way. Not like mind control just influence. It makes sense when you look at morgana's character in seasons 1 and 2, she seems like a completely different person. It's probably just bad writing but there's no way season 1 and 2 morgana would ever try to kill her friends. The writers have a tendency to make characters suddenly change like that for plot convenience.
I have to agree. The severe changes in Morgana’s personality (sudden greed and ambition, getting pleasure from hurting innocent people) came out of nowhere, and were never even hinted beforehand. The writers didn’t just change her. They switched out her core personality for an unrecognizable one, offscreen. In the real world, that sort of extreme change in psyche doesn’t really happen to a person so late in life. In my mind, that’s proof enough that Morgause definitely twisted her in some way to corrupt her motivations and make her the perfect spy.

In some spots he hatred was justified, but in other spots she hated them too quickly just before she even gave them a chance and turned a blind eye too quickly. Which I think is definitely Morgose's influence on her.
Ignoring for a sec that it was partly just bad writing, consider that Morgana felt broken by Merlin's poisoning of her so much that she hated him and in turn she hated everyone he loved to hurt him. That meant Arthur, Gwen, Gaius and some of the knights too. A woman betrayed by someone she thought was a friend or even someone she may have secretly loved - more so if she truly didn't know what Morgause had done to her or was planning. And Season 5 happened after Morgana had been held captive by the Sarum in that well (with Aithusa) for two years in darkness, by which point she'd likely have been actually, literally, insane. That is without ever contemplating what Sarum might have said and or done to her added to it. The writers truly were awful to the character.

Ignoring for a sec that it was partly just bad writing, consider that Morgana felt broken by Merlin's poisoning of her so much that she hated him and in turn she hated everyone he loved to hurt him. That meant Arthur, Gwen, Gaius and some of the knights too. A woman betrayed by someone she thought was a friend or even someone she may have secretly loved - more so if she truly didn't know what Morgause had done to her or was planning.
And Season 5 happened after Morgana had been held captive by the Sarum in that well (with Aithusa) for two years in darkness, by which point she'd likely have been actually, literally, insane. That is without ever contemplating what Sarum might have said and or done to her added to it. The writers truly were awful to the character.

What was morganas reasoning for kidnapping Gwen? Was it to hurt Arthur or Merlin because she only wanted to hurt Arthur to hurt uther
If I remember correctly, Morgana kidnapped Gwen to turn her into a kind of mind puppet with the mandrakes.
