Being an Australian of Scottish descent I get quite emotional when I listen to patriotic Scottish songs. My paternal grandparents were McLeods from The Isle of Skye and I guess I must have a lot of Scottish in my soul. Roddy McLeod.

I grew up with the Corries. My dad used to play this beautiful, sensitive version of the song (and others) on a casetteplayer on a lazy sundaymorning. Happy to hear it again, instead of many sing-along versions.... Brings back good memories. Thank you! To me the Corries and their music represent the soul of Scotland, a country I feel deeply connected with.

    O Flower Of Scotland,
When will we see, your like again

Yer wee bit hill and glen
    And stood against him
    Proud Edward's army
    And sent him homeward
    Tae think again

    The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O’er a land that is lost now
    Which those so dearly held

    Those days are past now
And in the past, they must remain
But we can still rise now
