The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this barren and hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world… their story begins in the deepest reaches of outer space. Long ago, the beings who would become the rock band GWAR were part of an elite fighting force, the Scumdogs of the Universe. For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic fuck-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool's errand to conquer an insignificant shitball floating in a dark corner of the universe; the planet Earth. Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all of human history. Aliens to some, gods and demons to others, our erstwhile Scumdogs fucked apes to create the human race, and this fateful unplanned pregnancy would prove to be truly disastrous!
Their new album, The Blood of Gods, is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitical disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry.
Of course, The Blood of Gods is the first GWAR album without the band's fallen leader, Oderus Urungus. The title of the album refers to the loss of Oderus and the struggles and triumphs that produced the new sound of the band. Born of adversity, The Blood of Gods is a sonic scar… a question asked and answered… Death cannot kill GWAR. Nothing can. GWAR LIVES MOTHERFUCKERS!
Man... This is truly sick. Dave said that he wanted Gwar to go for a thousand years... And i hope so too. The band did the right thing staying together.
GWAR IS PERCEPTUAL ☺
Truly sn inspiration of gods holy love !😂🙏🌎💘🖖❤️
"I hope GWAR goes on for a thousand years" - Dave Brockie / Oderus Urungus
Mike Bishop is doing great on vocals!
the guy kills it live too. still amazing stage show
@@MyXyle666 can confirm saw them awhile back and it was one of the best live shows ive ever seen
Meh its lost something
Thank you! Way too many people saying they should have hung it up when Dave died when that is exactly what he didn't want.
@@Tony-wm1oc maybe they ran out meth that day?....
Dave said GWAR could go on for 1000 years. Here's hoping he is right.
Alex Smith miss the MAN. I
Wont be long Oderus will be back with a BIGGER DICK
friend said to listen to "perfect" by ed sheeran got about 20 secs in until i saw gwar in my recommend tab and just thought to myself "thank god a way out"
Man everyone doubted that gwar wasnt gonna get back on its feet. I stood with them all the way through and look at them now. Hail gwar
Roach Dogg Jr, what up man?
@@KingdomofStank real trap shiet
This single feels like GWAR is getting more comfortable with GWAR, post Dave. They've hit a stride with this one. I love it.
Sounds like GWAR. And that is a very good thing.
yessss
Its hard to replace a lead expecially Brockie but you know hearing this that its still gwar!
We all agree!
I missed these guys, definitely buying this album. I like what theyre doing with the style mixups
RIP Oderus Urungus, your legacy still carries on in GWAR
gwar hardly ever disappoints. even with the new singer. unlike a lot of other bands that change their sound over the years, gwar always sounds like gwar. refreshing as hell
GWAR has made fun of killing every president at some point.
Are they gonna kill those already dead?
@@willb1156 It's GWAR, so....yes?
@@uthias would be fun to see JFK get shot during a show 😂
@@willb1156 He was pretty much openly banging Marilyn Monroe in office; he'd probably get a kick out of it.
They killed every president since Reagan.
GREAT TRACK BUT DAMN I STILL MISS BROCKIE!!!
kevin willems yes I am sorry we all are suffering without our lord
Hail Oderus😭✊🏾
Sounds good but it would sound better with Brockie and Smoot!
kevin willems my little brother has lost 5 friends to heroin od..sad.
It'd be far less dangerous if it weren't for prohibition so I'm going with fuck government.
Nothing but goosebumps from this song. The whole album is just an awesome return for this great band.
I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by throwing the jar of jelly out a speeding car window and calling Gwar instead.
Well that’s _one_ way to do it.
All hail GWAR, your lords and masters.
I had allot of doubts after losing Corey and Dave, but, what I heard, new album sounds awesome and Mike Bishop was and is still a great singer, gwar live on
Gwar has made the best comeback of any old school band ever!
Isaiah Stanfill I wouldn't call it a comeback because they never left, but i will agree. At a time when it looked like they were going to be finished, they stayed in the game. Many comments I see on the online where people are criticizing them for moving in with a new lead vocalist, which happens to be a gwar veteran that sang on several older albums. At every concert I have been to since Brockies death I have heard other concert goers shouting "Blothar ruined Gwar", and that just annoys me. I will agree that it is the greatest stay in, or even come back sure, why not. I been listening to Gwar for decades now, and I have seen them with Brockie so many times, I have seen them with Bishop three times now. These articles that say that there are no more original members are full of shit. Maybe not in 85 or even 88 when my personal favorite album Hell-o was released, but Derks, Roberts, and yes Bishop are all Gwar vets. So this is not a Gwar cover band. This is Gwar. Did anyone have a problem with the X-Cops album? I sure as Hell loved it and wanted to hear everything from Casey Orr after one listen. These dickheads need to shut up with their "Gwar sucks now" bullshit.
I'd say Gwars actual "come back" was the release of Violence has Arrived. To me that was the "OMG GWAR IS BACK AND EVEN MORE FUCKING EPIC NOW!" moment
Jenult absolutely, I'd have to agree, especially after such an album ad WKE, VHA was when they took the path of a more thrash metal. I'd really love to hear something more like Hell-o, being that I was raised on punk, and find It to be their absolute best lp
Dustin Abolafia You're damn right about that Bishop is fucking bad ass!
Cloyce Spreadings indeed. At the age of only 14 I can say that I have been hit with the blood that came out of a Cow Gods penis utters. Hail Blöthar! Hail Oderus! HAIL GWAR!!!
GWAR still able to crank out bad ass politically charged heavy music after all these years.
Reminds me of this toilet Earth, and I'm not mad about it. BLOTHAR the mighty is the best thing Gwar could do... Long live the mighty Gwar, Oderus Urungus would want it that way human filth!
Sounds like a mix of Saddam a Go Go and Go to Hell. You're probably gonna see my name on every track and I apologize in advance, I grew up listening to this band and after Dave's death I went on a listening hiatus for 2 years. This is my first look at this album and I love it so far. Like the rest of the comments, this is Gwar in all its glory!
This song instills the next era of the all mighty GWAR!
I'm convinced. I still love GWAR! This is what they do best! RIP ODERUS! You'll be proud GWAR is carrying on in your honor!
Hail ODERUS!
Gwar is back with a vengeance and they still got it even without brockie. Good job guy's! Brockie would be proud.🤘 👹🤘
this song gets truer every year
The tour to support the album was about them trying to find oderous. At the start there was a moment of silence as Oderous appeared on stage. One of the 3d holograms. Beyond awesome
I'm glad GWAR is making music again.
Seems legit.
R.i.p. Dave! Long live blothar!
GWAR for president! 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘
I can´t believe I never heard of GWAR before, this is awesome.
Dear Oderous Urungas. Do you remember me? I remember you. I was the guy with the grizzled face and lousy weed and the really bad tattoo. RIP Dave
Great song Letters From a Scallop Boat 👍
Now,I'm getting 20 to life for killing the guy that was humping my wife.
lol
Adam Dunne 20 to life?! You should have got a day off from work!
Its Oderus Urungus, now get in the stall and enjoy your bone meal.
Cool track....Respect to the Mighty GWAR!
All I can say is Thank you BISHOP!!!!!!
I think Mike brought that little push the band needed post-Brockie, that little push from the original GWAR to bring back the roots and get them centered on some good heavy metal slaughter of worthless humans again.
Agreed
this song has some current relevance...
Excellent the vocals are starting to fit in better. Long live the new era of GWAR!!!!!
I am so glade that GWAR is making a new album! After dave (Oderus) passed away I thought they wouldn't make a new album EVER! Im just so fucking overjoyed that all the words in the english dictionary just can't describe the true way i possibly can feel about their never ending Death! GWAR LIVES! GWAR RULES! I truly sceam it towards the stars.
i think of Gwar as an entity thats bigger than Brockie or any of its members. The only band that i hope goes on
for a hundred years or more with many lineup changes because theyre not of this earth. Brockie would've wanted it that way.
Brockie wanted the band to go on for 1000 years and the changes the band made after his death solidified their ability to do just that.
Mike Bishop (formerly Beefcake the Mighty…now Blothar) has a solid voice and his on-stage energy is perfect. Their live show for their 30th anniversary tour was amazing.
Yes, the band sounds cleaner (some would argue their sound is more mainstream now and “safer”) but they’re putting out great metal. Anytime you change frontmen and some personnel, your sound will evolve - and that was the case here.
It’s different - but it’s still very much GWAR.
Oderus Urungus can never die! He waits for us in the afterlife, his resurrection will come when he has feasted upon enough bohab souls.
If you don't respect GWAR, you have no balsac.
and if you respect GWAR, but are female....? 0_0
Whoa GWAR has horns again!
Pointy, pointy horns
I have no doubts that Gwar's new album is going to be the best thing since Battle Maximis
Cloyce Spreadings same 🤘
Having heard this live the same day than Tenacious D on a music fest was great.
Tasty riffs
People who complain about this not being gwar must not know anything about Gwar!
This gave me a weird idea for a fighting game stage set during a military rally with a general on a podium in the background babbling on and waving his hands all over
It's got some strange energy I'm not used to from GWAR! I DUNNO, BUT ILL TAKE IT
Holy shit they're back...
LONG LIVE TO GWAR
H A I L GWAR!!!!! FUCK THE HATERS AND LONG LIVE THE LORD'S AND MASTER'S GWAR!!!!
This song has been the single most cathartic song for me during this era of political insanity
You said it.
Also i love the song so much.
Definitely sounds like something straight out of the "Violence Has Arrived" album. I love it!
My lord that was a banger, sounded like something of beyond hell
I have been listening to gwar since 89 and they make beautiful music! Just beautiful wonderful music🤘🏻
OMG ITS SO METAL I LOVE IT
When they played this live I swear I headbanged my head off my neck
Hail GWAR !!!🤘
Finally gave the album a listen. Absolutely love it!!
The drums on this track are beyond sick and here in 2023 I can’t find one decent drum cover to watch.
Nothing will ever be as good as Scumdogs Of The Universe .....PERIOD!!!!! Long Live GWAR!!!
I haven't felt this vibe since War Party. Definitely GWAR.
Saddam a go go part 2
Thrasher Daniel dat boi
Thrasher Daniel FUCKING BEAT ME TO IT LMAO MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
Kermit Burroughs both tunes are fantastic!
I didn't even notice cause I came to listen. Not watch
okay shut up, nobody cares if you like it or not man. Just fucking listen and respect the craft
GWAR will live on!!
You underestimate our insolence.
Too good for their own good.
As much as I miss Brockie this sounds great, has that old school Gwar sound.
This song hit me harder than the giant crack rock I used to bludgeon my dealer to death with.
This sure makes the new record worth buying best one I heard so far
Años que no los avía escuchados a estos locos!
Wow, they are still kicking ass. I really didn't think they could still be awesome without Oderus but this is the shit.
GWAR is forever
Awesome song ever
Jerry Campos SAME!!!😣😣😣🤘🤘🤘🤘🏿
Awesome! I had my doubts at first but gwar is back
I cant wait to see them again in Louisville
Glad to see they Rose from the ashes of Oderus' human slave dying. Have seen them twice with the original line up
this is a great song!
ALL WILL BOW BEFORE GWAR
Next thing you know people are gonna be upset that GWAR mentioned killing a neo-nazi in Slaughterama...
Edit: They did, just do not look at the replies of this comment, it'll make you a very depressed person.
Chef Excellence when they complain turn up the volume.
No that's the point neo nazis deserved that. And so does anyone defending one.. Maybe you should listen a little closer. Gwar was known for being against fascist and racist.
nate dean i mean turn up gwar to anyone that complains about their music. I agree with you.
Nate dean I was kidding because people were upset about the references to killing Trump
Chef Excellence oh shut up man, Neo Nazi death is great. shut the fuck up dude stop trying to start shit
Saw this played live in Detroit. Fucking worth. GWAR is still GWAR.
Holy fuck this sounds good nobody can really replace Dave but damn I like this
This was uploaded the day I saw them! What a show lol
Hell Yeah! Good ol' Gwar with a good banger
Now this is GWAR even if I will always miss Oderus!
Just stop and smell the decay
Of what you've given your life to build
So far this is the best track I've heard Idk.
Immortals!!! Great!!
I dig it. Has an old school feel to it, but still keeping the post Violence Has Arrived influences in there.
i knew when i heard Bishop was joining the band again that shit was gonna go down \m/
I feel like that folks feared that song may be dated because of Drumpf, but as long as the country keeps electing these jokers this song will be timeless.
i love the new singer, sounds almost identical to oderus Urungus. aka Dave Brockie. but i still miss brockie, RIP oderus Urungus
ONE more week!!! fuck yesssss
That riff at 1:00 is life.
yay!! new gwar!!
FUCKING KILLER!
I was hesitant to hear this but this is fucking amazing.
GWAR STILL LIVES
I had to push replay..too fuckn sick...great job brutal fucks🤘
I love it.
More blood gwar GWAR!!!!....
