Thanks, again, Brad! I've been using soft water to grow grass all summer til I thought to bypass the system and I still forget which way is wich and have to come check your video
At 00:28 I noticed a deep scrape on your finger. I have the exact same scrape on the exact finger after working on my brine tank. I have NO idea how it happened. Thanks for the video.
If you screw in the valve only half way are you mixing untreated water with untreated water thus making the water in the house less soft? Would doing this affect water pressure in the house usages like showers, dishwasher and sink faucets?
Thanks, I’m killing my grass with the water softener activated, by going to bypass this will stop the treated water from coming out the hose and just regular untreated water?
No if you unplug it, it will not reginerate so if there is a problem where maybe you have an E-1 code which mean piston is stuck in the valve water will still run water out to the drain. Best thing if there is a problem to bypass the unit until a service technician can come out.
@@kegabrad The people in the unit didn’t want to use it at all and it had been sitting for a couple years already. That unit was not supposed to be installed at that rental. I did the bypass and unplugged it. We weren’t planing on calling a technician. I hope it doesn’t break anything.

Yes it would be mixing the water. Depending on how much you twist in to how much hard water you will let in.
Thank you!
Very helpful. Thank you.

Thank you
thanks my man💯
Thanks for the video
If going on vacation should you bypass to avoid wasting salt? Will it still keep regenerating? Or is there something else that needs to be done?
no they are metered now so it will only clean when water is being used so when on vacation no water is being used so it will not clean.
Can I return mine.
Not unless it is on a rental or a lease. You can call your local office. If you purchased you can take it with you or leave it for new home owners
Unplug it?
