    Wooow, I haven't had this in sooooo many years, my mum always made this, and it was hard to stop at just one piece lol,,,

      Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. It certainly is a classic recipe and there is nothing wrong with having a slice as an adult either 😉. The benefit of making it yourself is you get to make the pieces bigger!

    You just wait longer for the middle part to set that way the jelly won’t make dents

      True, a good half hour chilling for that layer, not 10 minutes.

    Not sure why you started with the Jelly,? Regardless thank you very much for the recipe. I also add lemon rind to the base and the condensed milk layer! Winner winner jelly slice

    Well done. Was wondering if you could do chocolate hedgehog slices without any nuts. This is something I am looking forward to seeing.

      Thank you Timothy for taking the time to watch my video and for suggesting a recipe to do next season. I haven't had hedgehog in many years - I am going to need to do a few test batches, but now my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Thanks again

      @@RiesKitchen I am going to try making it myself. Normally, nuts are involved. However, since I have nut allergies, I am trying to find a suitable version that does not involve nuts. You might succeed and beat me to the chase. I do love jelly slices too.

    Hello there! Great recipe but 1 question for you ; can I substitute lime juice for lemon juice?

    • @RiesKitchen
      @RiesKitchen  Před 2 lety

      Hi!
      You can indeed substitute line for lemon. The acidity levels are similar. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video

    Dearest May I know how many grams of strawberry jelly need to add to the gelatine for the top layer of the cake? And how much water to add?

    • @RiesKitchen

      Great question Anna- I had to go and check the packet! It’s 85g. I’ll amend my recipe to include this 😊
      Thanks for watching my videos

    It is Okay to dont need to add cream cheese to make this jelly cake?

    • @RiesKitchen
      @RiesKitchen  Před měsícem

      Hi
      The cream cheese gives structure to support the jelly layer. I’ve never tried without the cheese and suspect the jelly would push out the cream layer. But worth a try 😊
