All of the food on Coco Cay comes from the same kitchen. There are wings and fries on the free buffet and they're the same wings and fries you pay for at Captain Jacks. Thanks Tony for the honest review. FYI the Cuban sandwiches on the buffet are the bomb.

I watched this video thinking it was one of your latest videos from your 2 day cruise. Things weren’t adding up so I looked at the year and realized it was 2 years ago!

Morning tony, thank you for the background music was very relaxing and easy to listen to, fit perfectly I thought.
By the time we are done paying for flights, pre-cruise hotel and other things, there isn’t that much coin left for us to drop on non-included things. I can happily enjoy the cruise vacation by skipping drinks, non-included food including specialty dining. Yes I could splurge on all the extras but the cost would be less cruising.
Can’t wait to get to Co-co Cay in February, we do have the drink package, so I’ll get the drink only and stick to the included food.. thanks Tony
Thanks Tony, now that is honesty! If I'm gong to spend 35 bucks for food ashore, and I often do, it needs to be something really good and something that I can't get back home for half that price.

Honest review - :) I have primarily cruised with Princess in the last 10 years, but also sailed Celebrity, Oceania, Carnival and Norwegian and I get frustrated with the constant "upcharges for eating" food that is "not very darn special" . The move to "specialty dining" really raises your overall cruising costs. It's disheartening because cruising use to be much more "all inclusive". On my 21 Princess cruises I have probably eaten in the specialty restaurants less than 10 times. My hubby is a burgers fries pizza buffet guy and I love the MDR for dinner. I guess I would rather cruise more often than eat my way through all the specialty restaurants. Thanks for keeping it real!

When I watch/read a food reviews I like to be told what it was that made it great or not so great. Why do we need to avoid this chicken? Flavor? Texture? Temperature? I didn’t notice the specifics so just reaching out. Some man’s 👎 is another man’s 👍. 😊

We were at Coco Cay 2 years ago, on the Allure. We had the drinks package, so we had... ummm... several fruity drinks that they called the "signature drink" of the island. As I recall, it was an orangey concoction of some sort that was quite tasty! We didn't eat at Captain Jacks. The best thing I got on our Perfect Day was a nice orange (my official color!) Coco Cay baseball cap. I plan to wear it on our upcoming Christmas cruise, again on the Allure out of Ft. Lauderdale. I can't WAIT for it to begin, even though we won't be going to CocoCay this time.
Really appreciate when you try to save some of us money. Very important to know if certain things are worth the price. Hate nickle & diming.

Did a cabana at the Coco Beach Club, recently and we loved it!! Food and service was awesome. Wii do this again for sure!

Coco Beach club too costly along with other things like water park, balloon ride and more. Not Perfect Day but “Expensive Day at Coco Cay” !

Was a Coco Cay earlier this week while on Harmony. Tony should have broken down the prices a little bit. The wings and fries combo was $7.99. I still didn't buy them because as advised they had wings on the free buffet

Not that I have been there but it seems with a bunch of included food it would be a waste to purchase food. I rather spend the money on a drink or souvenir. Also, it’s nice to know about the tram. I would want to walk around the island but would be tired just walking to the entrance from the ship.

Hi Tony! Look as soon as I saw them wings I was like nah! Where’s the beef! Or in this case chicken! Small pile of fries! Potato’s are cheap! That drink looked yummy thought! Great review Tony. I have no doubt in my mind when I go next year if 8m eating there!

I was supposed to go to Coco Cay not once, not twice, but three times this year and all 3 cruises were cancelled so I never got there - and both my Royal cruises next year skip it - so I'll get there someday but now I know not to go to Captain Jack's. I will, however, enjoy the Billy Joel song.
We know you got to do a world trip to China , and after you do 60 those kind of cruises , I'll never go to Cocoa...key. the trip with stops like that feels like a huge rip off . Southern Caribbean always was fun. Glad you did the review just confirms my feelings. Thanks alot.

The lunch at the coco cay Beach club was fantastic. Just had it November . If you can get the Beach Club tour for under $100.00 I think it's worth it comes with lunch private Beach and infinity pool

Here’s a heads up!,,, The Coco Beach Club was on sale last Monday. We booked it months ago and then called last week to see if they reduced the price. The Royal customer service rep canceled our original reservation and rebooked it at the lower cost for us. Not sure when the sale ends.

Yeah, there is so much good food on Coco Cay, that I wouldn't bother buying anything.The buffet is really good, even better than it was in the past. They've added some free snack places that include things like Funnel cake, too. No need to spend anymore money there.

Room service hot wings are great, at least on Harmony of the Seas. We had two orders and a Royal waygu burger for 7.95.

Agree just got off the Anthem and we had them every night plus we were in a suite so no charge for room service
You didn't mention the entertainment at Captain Jack's which I thought was super fun! There is a whole pirate themed show.

At least once you have to experience the Coco Beach Club. A little rich but a great excursion and worth it.
Tony went to the Beach Club in June when he was on the Adventure.
The wings and fries didn't look that appetizing so thanks for the heads-up.

The fact that it was not a clear-cut winner and recommend at the initial recording, it seemed like it was easy to decide not to recommend dropping the extra coin on it from your reaction. Especially like you said when there are so many included food options on the island and even if you choose to head back to the ship.

When buying food on an island resort type of place I would expect to pay at least 50+% more then in a city. But then $34 is not cheap. It’s like the 50 euros I paid at the hotel in Basel Switzerland for a cheese burger. Great burger but way too expensive. A Man has to eat.

Just picked up a whole, marinated, and grilled spatchcock chicken, all the sides + 2 crevasses at a hole in the wall here in the Riviera Maya, total cost $6.00 US. Worth it: oh yeah. Wings, fries, and a drink or two should never be $34 USD. Just sayin
