  • The Queen Anne cruise ship will be officially named on 3 June yet 24 hours out and we still don't know who will name the ship! In addition, the ship has already completed her maiden voyage well ahead of the naming ceremony - a huge break from tradition for Cunard... AND the ship will be officially named in Liverpool - not Southampton.
Find out what's going on with the naming ceremony!

Who named the ship? We all did. It was done by everyone who turned up to watch the ceremony. The godparent is the City of Liverpool.

I wonder if “Princess Anne” would have been a better choice. The most active member of the royal family.

Hi Chris and Baz. I've been watching Palace Confidential on Thursdays. I've asked them if they knew if any of the RF were going to Christen Queen Anne. Because of the shutting down of the government, and the curtailing of Royal Duties since. Nobody is giving up any information !! UGH. I have my suspicions and hopes. We shall see tomorrow then.

Chris the fact that Cunard don’t have you at the ceremony is a disgrace.

I regularly cross the Atlantic on RMS QM2 which I will do on Aug 23 to start my sabbatical this fall. However, she leaves a week too soon for me so I'm coming back to America on Queen Anne Jan 9th. I'm a little nervous about a common cruise ship crossing the Atlantic in winter vs an ocean liner.

I personally don’t like the break from tradition, a ship should ALWAYS be named and christened BEFORE the first ( Maiden) voyage!! As far as who it will be, I think it should definitely be Princess Royal Anne . She’s the hardest working in the family and DEFINITELY deserves the honour !!! Barring that , second guess is King Charles or Princess Kate ?? 🤔🤷‍♂️

Very disappointing that a member of the Royal Family did not christen the ship. I think the whole ceremony looked cheapened by having a group of people (most of whom are unknown to me) to perform the christening. A lot of people would be disappointed with this choice.
