She totally missed the whole point…
Charlie doesn’t care if his pilot is black or white or Asian or whatever. Because he knows they are all being held to the same standard which means they all have the minimum skill required to be great pilots.
If an airline says that they want to have 50% non-whites, it means that in order to get that much diversity, they will have to lower educational standards. Not because non-whites are stupid but because it takes a long time to fill that quota. There are just more white people applying for these positions because it’s the majority.
She missed the whole point of his stance, but I can tell he clearly understood.
Qualification, not Skin Color!
Did you NOT hear him, it has nothing to do with color but the standards that got lowered because of color. If you were having brain surgery and they said we "have" to allow people with orange hair to do brain surgery because there are not enough of them and your doctor has orange hair, would was think I sure hope he/she didn't get the job based on hair color versus qualifications. It they didn't lower standards then you wouldn't care if your doctor had orange hair.

My follow question for her since she missed his point. Is it more important for someone to be qualified for the job or is how they look more important? DEI doesn’t put the most qualified people in certain position's rather its sole purpose is to make sure a certain amount of each race is in the position. I personally would want the best trained and most qualified person piloting the plane I am on how they look isn’t important to me!

Anyone hired simply because they are a certain color is NOT qualified for the job over the other skin colors 85% of the time. Your feelings of annoyance simply from an ignorant person who thinks that just because you are black you can’t be in the wrong or a white man can’t be correct……such a pitty

The chick is wrong on this one. The guy seems to understand. The whole point is the issue of oh we need more black and women pilots. The only way to do that is to lower the standards. I’m sure they’ll be lowered for everyone. But you can’t help but think is this person actually qualified or were they hired solely because they are a certain color or gender. EVERYONE should be held to the SAME standard.
