      typically in the police force it isnt a teacher/ student environment. No one is teaching anyone anything unless theres a problem first. They assume all is taught in the academy, and when a officer comes to a precinct his main interaction is typically with whichever senior officer hes attached to. That is the unfortunate truth, and in the end thats why every single officer handles a situation differently, even the ones from the same precinct. Everyone is on a free for all with their very loose knowledge of the law and how to handle criminals. Their training definitely needs restructuring for sure, and there needs to be better leadership

      The Town of Newburgh has no mayor. The Town is headed by a Town Supervisor an elected position. Do not confuse the Town of Newburgh with the City of Newburgh. While they are adjacent to one another geographically, they are two entirely separate political entities.These situations are common in New York. It allows more "home rule". Town of Newburgh Police have had their fair share of troubles over the years.

      RAS is vague. The Supreme Court knew that when they made it up, most likely in Terry v. Ohio. It pretty much means whatever the cop says it means from what I've seen.

      The year this video was filmed...twice as many police died "in the line of duty" from COVID as from all violence combined. It wasn't even 1 a month (11 total) that were killed by gunfire in 2022, not counting accidents and using them on themselves. In all of 2023, 5 police were ambushed with gunfire and died...3 of them in a single event, 2 in another. There were 2 fatal ambushes in all of 2023.
      Meanwhile, police killed an average of 3.64 (1329 total) people A DAY in 2023.

    I wouldn't appreciate being called "pal" by a copper. Where I come from, that word is either a really good friend or a complete insult.
