True. Starshell is still completely useless. Even after they buffed the flare pistol and fuses with igniting capabilities picking dragonsbreath over starshell is still 100% better.
I still dont understand why they even put it in the game
I see only two uses for starshell. For a Romero second ammo slot or lemat shotgun slot so you don’t need to bring fuses or a flare pistol, or for trolling.

I always rock a slot of explosive ammo when using a martini or Springfield. Windows and barred doors are not allowed. Also it can do really well with clearing concertina traps and bombs. Players almost never expect people to pop barricaded doors in 3-4 star and there isn't a warning like they would get if you melee it or blow it up with dynamite. Just "FBI OPEN UP!" And then Boom! Three drunk rednecks with fanning and a dream are inside your boss lair lol

Man, my 6 star experience has been more of "get to compound, hear stick break in distance, get headshot through two walls by a guy with [][][][] as a name and then watch them hipshot headshot everyone within 50m" kind of experience.
My main server is Asia and I feel this so much. Its literally unplayable once you go to 5-6 star mmr.

I honestly think that if the nitro explosive was accidentally bugged so that the explosion resembled a large bundle, it would take weeks before someone noticed.
Remember Hunters: Explosive ammo denotates explosives *instantly* . Everyone thinks they can outrun an Uncooked bomb until you shoot it. Also, the Big Bynamite Bundle has a MASSIVE lethal range. Use this info wisely.
I’ve ran with some friends who would use big dyno bundle a lot, for good reason as you said it’s lethal range is cracked. They would throw a bundle and I’d shoot the window frame or door and instant boom. People don’t expect it, I’ve also used explo ammo to detonate an explosive someone was throwing. I’m not sure if it needs to be in air or if you can explode it while in their hands but I’ve gotten a couple martini kills by blowing up other people’s explosives they were throwing
@@Z_D3m0n It needs to be an object in game. Its why you cant just shoot a grenade someone is holding or cooking. But once it leaves their hands, its a live object that can be exploded. Once, an enemy threw a grenade near me and it detonated RIGHT as I was throwing a Bee Jar. The fragmentation from the nade hit my jar, leading to my death. If you can time it right, IN THEROY, explosive ammo is a 'hard counter' to bombs lol.
@@Z_D3m0nit's not just the range. The big bundle is bugged and kills through objects. Normally explosions are blocked by walls and terrain but the big bundle just goes through it. I think it's the cracks that you can peek out of that does it.

I know an even worse ammo type. One that usually magically come out of my guns without me even selecting it. How it works is it phases out of existence just before hitting whoever I’m aiming at, goes traight through them, and then comes back again and smack into the ground/wall/rock or whatever happens to be behind my target 😂 It’s so weird, I swear I never hear youtubers talk about this type of ammo 😅

I'm glad they nerfed explosive ammo... when they first come out the explosive nitro was OP af. RIght now it may be a meme, but if they would improve the ammo capacity (ONLY for the esplosive one) it can be viable with a strong secondary.

This is the one ammo type that i never want to get buffed but when i get deal 300 dmg with explosive ammo quest, something dies inside of me.

IDK man, the Springfield 1866 and the Martini-Henry work just fine with half explosive ammo (well, mostly because the MH can still deal more than 125 DMG and the Springfield is Medium Ammo with 20 reserve). Uppercut Explosive is the most memey sidegrade of the game, but it does have its bizarre niche (specially with Fanning).
The Nitro is the only one which literally becomes a worse gun by using it.
Hey explosive nitro has the farthest 2 tap distance. Provided no bullowork or a 1 inch thick wood fence
After over 1500h in Hunt I didn't even know (or remember) nitro explosive was a thing. Why is that even a thing, what's the purpose of it?

Like with r6 siege, i think crytek should've gone with balancing pc and console separately because explosive ammo was nerfed due to how powerful it could get when you're opponents don't have as snappy aim as a mouse and keyboard user

Honestly I'm shocked they actually did anything cuz console hunt is a joke, an afterthought.
The game was unplayable on PS4/Xbox one running at 12-20fps with 1 second of input lag, like...sure they nerfed that stuff but the problem is that they were the only thing usable 😂 because you couldn't aim. The whole game was strafing left to right and trying to time the shot half a second before your ain was on target.
But whatever, that ammo is dumb. It shouldnt exist, let alone be strong.
Just like the avtomat, these guns should be gimmicks, memes, that get you free kills if you are lucky. A literal bet where you pay a lot to have a chance to get Free kills.

I want to get good at this game but I keep jumping from 4 to 5 stars. 4 stars I wreck and once I get 5 stars I get clapped. it feels like I am going from 4 to 100 stars.
Bro the sbmm in hunt is a little screwed one day I'll barely hit six then the next day I have a bad day and fall to 3, in six star everyone is using spitzer snipers and nitros and stuff, just keep playing you will improve don't worry about the stars they come and go, the more you play the better you will get.
I was one of the people not blaming the new gun economy and how easy is to get good weapon but in the last two days i extracted with 17 dolch and 7(was 8 but i lost one) DolchP lmao high 5/low 6 stars Dolch is spammed

How do u guys like this idea for explosive ammo: explosive ammo fragments which can cause 1-50 damge, and cause level 1 or 2 bleed. Direct hits do not cause this only if you hit near them
