In todays video i am going to give you a quick update on my most recent review on my ambition torped and ambition mars- U tattoo machines.
I've done the review a couple of months ago and now after i have been using the machines for some time I would like to let you guys knw what my experiences were with the machine and which styles the suit best.

Great reviews, and very honest but if you bend the rod a little bit so that it stays exactly on the middle at the right angle and add a little Vaseline at the tip on the Torped, it sounds and vibrates just like other pen style machines, just try it, sounds just like the Bronc Staves

Great review! Just wondering how do you go about cleaning the Mars U? The grip is straight forward, but does the machine itself have to be taken apart to clean?
I just make sure i wrap it well so it wont get dirty. And after a tattoo i will always wipe it down with alcohol
On the Mars try 8.6 to 8.8 for lining instead of 8.0 that should smooth the lining to match your happy speed.
Whats the best voltage yall have found to line and shade with the ambition? I just got one as a back up from my Flux
I would say lining around the 8/8.5 shading is anywhere between the 4 and 6 for me
Awesome video ! i have a quick question for you. Which needle groupings would you use with the ambiton torped 5.0 mm stroke. Would you mind giving me a range from the smallest needle grouping you would use up to which needle grouping? I appreciate your help and again great video! 😊
Basicly all depending on the purpose. Lining i would suggest anything from 7rl and up. You can do fineline but that depends on experience.

Would it be practical to have 2 torped set up . One for shading and another for lining different stroke options for both and cheap enough?
Yeah that could definatly work. I think with one it will be just fine too.
You could get the 28mm version and the cams range from 2.5-3.5 stroke,and use that for shading.Then use the 32mm version in this video for lining and packing. Two machines,two batteries,and your covered for around $250.

Hi, nice videos, well im planning to purchase the Mars-U do you think its good for a beginner?
Yes it is a great machine for beginners. But… set your stroke to 1 stroke and learn how to work with it before making changes. These different strokes can only confuse you when you are a beginner. Try to line with the 4.0 or 3.6 for smaller lines and packing color. And use the 3.6 or 3.2 for shading.

Shorter stroke on the rotary doesn’t make it fun faster. Think of the motor RPM- it doesn’t matter how long the stroke is - it rotates exactly the same RPM. This is not a coil machine where the throw length affects the speed.
I do think it will affect the speed. Because it is basically the same. Yes the motor might run a certain RPM. But it needs to travel a longer dinstance. So the needle will probably move at the same speed. But you dont need (for example) 4mm of the needle to tattoo. So i think it does affect the speed. Then again. I aint know scientist so i could be wrong😂 but thanks for you imput
@@Tattoobart147only affects the speed of the needle not the amount of hits. If it is at this stoke length, it's the amount of hits. It all depends what is measured because of the torque of the motor.

Ambition Torped - Whats up Sir, so I have a question I just bought this pen and will only use it for shadding because I use coils machines usually and will continue to line with a coil machine. Question is which of the 3 strokes should I use for packing black, color and light shading thanks. Pen came with Stroke 4.0-4.5-5.0mm
So
Color - 4.5
Blackout - 4.5
Soft shading 4.0???
I would probably do 4.0 for all of it to be honest. But is depends what you like. So i think its a matter of testing and seeing hoe it feels

Just use, barrier film and cut a slit in the middle for adjustments 🤟🏼

Is the torped a comparable liner to a machine like a dan kubin or a sidewinder type like machine? And does it vibrates more or less than a dan kubin, please respond :)
I am not sure if you can compare these 2 machines to each other. I think out of all the pen style machines it does line the easiest with bigger needles. But i have to be honest nothing really beats a coil or a sidewinder for lining. But after some getting used to it will work very nice. The torped has some vibration but nowhere near the vibration if a sidewinder
@@Tattoobart147So you're saying nothing beats a sidewinder type machine as a dedicated liner? I truly can't decide if I go with a modern pen style o with a trusty dedicated liner
@@etienneperes1390 well its a bit more complicated i feel😅 i recently changed to a more modern style machine. Pure for the reason my supplier sometime dont have grips in stock and he mentioned they will probably disappear overtime. Now in the shop inwork we work with disposibbles so we dont need to use an autoclave to steralize all the grips and tip. For that reason i went to a more modern style machine, also the fact i can work wireless that way and using different needle sizes is way easier. Now with a pen it takes a bit of getting used to. And sometime i feel i have to work a bit harder to get a line in. Now with my DK i can run a 14round shader with 1 hand on my back. So i have to be a lot more carefull lining with a machine like that. Its a bit more punchy. Now that i am a bit more used to it i actually really enjoy working with a pen. But maybe if i pick up my Dk i would love it more then my pen.
So what you should do is think of the positive things and the negative things and see if its worth it. I do believe if you want a liner get something with a 4.0mm stroke or longer. So the torped would be a good model to use

Can 5 strok push 14 RL brother?
Easy, even with the 4.0 and 4.5 you can push it. Although i think 4.5 and 5.0 is probably better

Is this better than the torped ?
Its different than the torped. If its better thats very personal. Its nog stronger than the torped. But its more versatile than the torped for sure
