My Dad was killed in a plane crash (military) when I was 6 years old (I'm 65 now) and my mother never remarried. She had a picture of my Dad on her nightstand all my life. She passed away recently as I whispered to her that she would soon be reunited with her precious husband, the love of her life. She never stopped loving him and this song gave me the sense of what life would have been like had they had their whole life together! This song is exactly what i feel for my parents. My mom passed away 5 years ago, she wasnt scared of death but worried for my father feeling all the pain and heartache. They're both madly and deeply inlove with each other that lifetime isnt enough. My dad still cries everytime we talked about her and those memories. I feel like half of him died when my mom passed away.

I come from an Asian country. From childhood until I grew up, I hardly felt too much love in my family. My father has many bad habits that make my mother and other family members very uncomfortable and angry. And my mother said that if it weren't for fate, she wouldn't have married him. Like what I said, there are actually times when they still care very much about each other and their family. So maybe when they got married, they weren't rich, and when I was born, things weren't any better, so they were always busy with work and forgot how to love and treat each other more gently. . . Maybe I have such a family so maybe I don't really know how to express what true love is. When I heard this song, I was really emotional. I wish I could meet someone who truly understands and helps me love that much. I wish I had a family with children born from the love of their own parents. I couldn’t feel much emotion and I had thoughts of revenge and the other things. But God saved me, he gave me the people in my life and he showed himself to me. At that very moment I knew it was him. I repent of all of the sins I have committed. I am ready to begin a new life with him. I grew up in a divorced family, never had a loving father and the memory of him beating my mom is still fresh in my mind ( im 20 years old now ). Later on after the divorced my mom remarried to my now stepfather. I swear growing up without a father figure is a tough life, but when my stepfather married my mom, that's the first time ever I felt the true meaning of a father's love. Thank you, Jax for this song. My parents got divorced when I was 23 years old. Growing up, I was generally the only kid amongst my friends who had parents that were still together and I felt so incredibly lucky for it. Still, realizing the pain that came out of their extremely toxic and nasty divorce I have no idea how the kids I grew up with held on. I'm 30 years old now and the pain is still fresh and the hurt has been the same, so I have no idea how the kids I grew up with that had split parents got through their childhoods. My dad stopped loving my mother and treating her like the queen she truly is when I started high school, but I had no idea. They hid it well.

i do, my parents are busy, and often stressed which sometimes worries me because they are so old, i sometimes wonder if my father will live to meet the man i marry, i cherish them truly. I’m so sorry if you have had a more unfortunate experience.
Growing up, I had a broken family. My family didn’t feel whole until my mother remarried and Gave us step father. She gave us a baby brother whom we all cherish. We were a family. Watching my step dad and my mother grew and blossom their relationship and he loved us children as his own without any question, I decided he is my father at the age 17 before I graduated high school.

Same. I try to be happy for them rather than ask why I never got to see my parents like this. I believe in God. I believe he puts situations in place that can make or break you, and with a little faith, he knows you'll grow stronger from it. It still sucks seeing I missed out. But maybe I haven't, cause at least this proves that there are happy, healthy couples and families out there, and maybe one day, I'll have one.

It’s really unique for a child from a broken family to learn to be that loving figure and with all the broken and unloving families out there there are so many adults that don’t know how to be this kind of loving toward their spouse. I wouldn’t say I come from a totally broken family as my parents did love each other (I know this for sure) but they had a tough time showing their feelings toward each other and toward their children. I look back now and see things while I was growing up that I wish I had seen earlier in life as it would have kept me from hurting on some issue about my family. Those that are lucky enough to find this love in their spouse are truly blessed.

Me too man, my dad is so toxic, I always pray for him to die but then I just realized of recent that his toxicity is just getting to me and I have redirected my prayers to finding a good man who will be a good dad to my kids, I want them to have what I never had.
