Hi warefisher and thanks for your question.
This fishing feeder/cage was made especially for feeder fishing (this is a fishing style very common in Europe) on rivers. It weighs between approximately 15 - 200 grams, and its purpose is to reach the bottom of the water and stay in a fixed place, and there the bait will break open and come out through the holes of the cage. Before being released into the water, it is filled with bait (pellets, ground bait, worms, etc.). When it reaches the bottom of the water, due to the currents of the water, the bait dissolves and comes out through the holes of the feeder (even the worm). Depending on the desired fishing style, the cage can be more closed or with a denser sieve, in which case the bait all goes to the bottom and dissolves there, or it can be more open/airy and by the time it reaches the bottom it already dissolves and attracts all fish from top to bottom. The beauty of this rig is that it can be used to catch all of our larger river species, providing you use an appropriate bait and loose-feed to tempt them. Be careful to make the connection from the hook rig in such a way that it does not interfere with the feeder (sinker) because it will be tangled. To avoid this situation, see the rig solution that I provided in the video I made. You can also see much more information online by looking for feeder fishing on the river with a feeder/cage. If you have any other information, don't hesitate to write to me. Have a wonderful day!
