Ben Rogers believe it or not this is EXACTLY how it was designed and from the little information about this aircraft that is out there, is that the engine was right behind the cockpit which kind of balanced the weight right where the rear wheels are. Since there was very little weight in the nose the nose wheel didn't collapse like in the 309. It does look like it would do a wheelie on take-off, but I don't think very many were ever made and the Japanese version of this plane Yokosuka R2Y Keiun had some over heating problems from the info I found on it.
