Showcased here is one of Hornby Trains newest models (R3514), based on the Hitachi Class 800 for Great Western Railway in the UK. Although a very striking model to look at, it has not come without fault. Upon delivery runs, some of the bogies were done up too tightly, causing the coach to derail. A temporary fix was applied, in which allowed a more axle rotation. Here we the model going through its paces around the AMRA Victoria Stonnington Valley Layout, amongst all the other rolling stock from other countries that were there
The Victorian Branch of AMRA- (Australian Model Railway Association) where this film was made is holding their annual model railway exhibition at Caulfield Racecourse. Either this model, or a Bachmann 221 Super Voyager will be showcased at one of the layouts at the exhibition. The layout in question is shown in the extra video, (link posted above). Further details of the Model Railway Exhibtion can be found below.

Great video there. Just a question about this model train.
How easy is it to access the cab? As I plan to add a driver into my example :).

Have not tried myself opening up the model, so I am yet to have an answer to that question.

hornby is off their nutter again. 500$ msrp and they still cant get the close coupling right! piko meanwhile can put out a 200$ 5 car talent2 set and get it right (piko expert series, not hobby). no wonder hornby is about to file for bankruptcy AGAIN
