It was 1986 and a beautiful summer day..i was 17 years old... fearless, strong and had the world by the balls driving down hwy 40 through Ocala Florida and Vern just twisted a phat one...Daytona Spring Break here we come!!!!! with this tune CRANKING in the cassette deck...awesome tune....awesome memories... thanks so much for posting this song.
1987 I lived behind Volusia County mall. Wood Forest Condo's. Daytona Speedway was across the hway. I was residing there temporarily to help a friend get his business started. There was a par 3 golf course and a Hooters half mile down the road and the greyhound dog track on the other side. Went there for a month. Stayed a year and a half.
I was 20 n cruisin n my 78 suped camero n doin all.kinds.of illegal things, if u get my drift. I wore this cassette out! Those were some really good times....
@@dataquester Me too except I had a bad-ass '69 Z-28 Camaro. Me and my bro's tore up the town back then! It was a great time back in 1983! Saw these guys with Sammy Hagar!
You are right. Supremely awesome guitarist. And he wasn't even the best guitarist in this Band. That's how good Night Ranger was. Still a great Band. I dig your name, by the way. Anything with a 5150 in it must be cool.
I was a drummer in a metal band for 10 years and performed backing vocals (and lead death metal growls). I thought that was hard and it took a lot of training. I can't imagine how hard and tiring it must be to carry a band by performing all of the lead vocals while drumming. Night Ranger were ferocious live, what an energy! Kelly Keagy's got massive chops, that's for sure.
I remember seeing them on this show. It was a live show called Rock N Roll Tonite and they opened with Play Rough, At Night She Sleeps, Eddie's Comin' Out Tonight, Sing Me Away then last but not least Don't Tell Me You Love Me. The following week they had Quiet Riot, who had just released Metal Health. With Nightranger, I was blown away. I bought the Dawn Patrol album a day later and the guitars were turned down. They were definitely a live band. At this time or a little earlier. Ozzy Osbourne hired Brad Gillis as Randy Rhoads' replacement but Gillis wasn't so sure that he wanted to leave his baby, Nightranger so Ozzy had Nightranger tour with him so Gillis would play the opening set with Nightranger then take a break then come back out with Ozzy. That must have been very tiring. Gillis did play on Ozzy's Speak Of The Devil live album.
3 times I made plans to see them live. All 3 failed. 1984 I was in the USAF and had a week of leave scheduled but do to a USSR scare we were confined to base for over a month. 1985 was enroute to the concert and witnessed a several car crash caused by a careless driver.with deaths involved. Several years for the 3rd time( for a good reason ) the mother of my child went in to labor....YUP YUP
Had a ticket for these guys, Steppenwolf and Pat Benatar last night!! Thinking Steppenwolf was first I didn't leave right away, when I got to the venue Night Ranger were wrapping up!!! WHAT??? I fucking missed SISTER CHRISTIAN??? when u got the name NIGHT Ranger that means u play at NIGHT when it's dark!!! Not when it's light!!!
Kelly Keagy singing while playing always gives me the chills.. A talent that's hard to describe
There are many Singer Drummer like Phil Collins, don hanley, levon helm, eric carr.
But the best none than Kelly Keagy
Who wrote this- is wicked cool. I think Keagy/Blades wrote mostly.
I love the colored lights shining off the cymbals.♥️ 🌈 💡
Such an underrated band- my favorite. Great songwriting and execution, clear band chemistry
Don't forget Brad Gillis left working with Ozzy to be in this band... roughly around this time too.

Where was this performance ? Looks like a very small venue. I am also a huge NR fan !!
Such a good live clip... showcasing all the guys except they keyboardist. I only wish the bass was louder in this clip
Man the band shifted into high gear on this one. Did not disappoint!
