I started growing my beard, the first ever, at the age of 89. That was last December of 2020. I am now 90 and have a beard that is full and covers my face. I have to shave it away from my upper cheek area. I am not going to trim it for another three months just to see how it grows.

I'm 47 and my beard definitely got thicker after 35 and even after 40. I'm still not positive it's done.
Thanks for giving me hope :D (I'm 20 by the way)
@@rokosbasilisk5376 lol you're way too young to worry about having a beard young grasshopper lol.
Haha, that sucks, I'm 18 and most of my beard is growing nice and thick. Just need more hair around my cheeks.
I'm in my early 20's and the mustache doesn't connect to the beard in the best way. I need to grow the mustache much longer than the rest to cover it up. I'm thinking about not doing that anymore, but don't have the confidence. The rest of the facial hair is perfect and symmetrical.
A fun thing is when your beard is blondish and redish and you have dark hair like i do wtf?

New to channel and new to beard growing. Was not able to have a beard due to the job but now i can. I enjoy watching and learning about the beard.
I adore successful rich down to earth good ppl. Keep up the good work greg and beardbrand.
This is the first time I see one of your videos and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. Everything is clear and straight to the point. And it actually gave me some hope that one day I may have a beard like yours. Because right now, at 22 years of age, the only thing that's missing for me is the part that connects the side burns to the goatee.
Greg, looking sharp. Beard on!
Thank you
Greg, I see several common questions asked of others and shared below. But, one I perhaps missed seeing listed is whether my beard is "hot" to wear in the summer (here in Texas). *** Regarding beard fullness and aging, I'd only add that most young men have rather scarce nose hair, little if any hair growing randomly from their ears. But, there is that age many of us hit where these become grooming issues we have to take care of. Sometimes, eyebrows, too, where errant long hairs develop for the first time at some more mature age. These are other indications of "changes" in hair distribution/hair characteristics, that it can go on for a very long time. There had to be dormant hair follicles for those hairs to begin growing . . . and, the same can happen over extended areas of one's face. You'd be a good example, sort of a statistical outlier, of one who had the follicles; they simply were not genetically and environmentally ready to show themselves. Why? Who knows! Brad
I'm 39 and will be 40 in May 2020. Honestly your videos have truly helped me with my slowly blooming beard. My younger sibling and even my son who are 21 grow better facial hair than I did at their age. Mine does seem to be continuing to evolve as I get older. I have definitely gained some confidence after finding out we are all different and thats okay. Thank you
I'll be 62 in February and hit 17 months yesterday. Last beard I grew was back around 1984. It's definitely a lot fuller this time around, but like many others I wish it was a bit fuller in areas. It is what it is and I've learned to accept and be happy with what I have. On another note, my beard grows at a slower rate than half an inch per month, so patience is a definite virtue that I've learned to appreciate and accept. Always enjoy watching your vids, Greg. Thanks for all the great tips.
Distinguishing, classic and OG. You rock.
Really encouraging video. I've been sporting my version of a beard for some years, but being in my late 20s am definitely worried that it might never thicken out or get fuller, but knowing that hope is there without having to resort to medical products, is really great. I will have a full beard one day...even if I have to wait 20 years!
At 46 my beard is still filling in. For the first time in my life I've actually forged ahead and been growing it since November (now Jan 2020 so 2 solid months). I'm def thinner on my left side than my right side, but I've been overall pleased in letting it fill in. Thanks for the tips and it's nice to know that there are others, few though they may be, in my same boat.
I want to thank you for all the encouragement. I am 49 and also have small areas where my beard is thin but after watching this video I am going to wait 90 days before my next trim. I also am going to try and style my beard along the same pattern as you have. I just hope my wife thinks it looks as good on me as she did you. Thank you again and looking forward to your next
From one Greg to another, I must agree with you. My beard journey has been much the same and at 58 it is still growing and filling in. Part of that may also be the way I've styled it over the years. Unlike you, I've had a full beard since I was 16 albeit much fuller and gray now. Most of my adult life I kept it trimmed to about a #5 but a few years ago I decided to do a Movember challenge and trimmed it to a #1 and decided to see just how far I could let it grow from there on. To my pleasant surprise it grew and grew and I liked it! Then I discovered I needed to grow my neck beard out to backstop the facial and jaw line length for a full, thick appearance. I really appreciate your insights. You went all out on style in this vid and I must say I'm impressed with your mustache, I think I'm just a bit too lazy to keep that look up though I have had it. Cheers!
I don't style my moustache daily---maybe twice a week. It's harder in the summertime with high humidity. But people always compliment me (and it) when I do.
Because of work, I wasn’t able to start growing my beard until I retired at 60. I wasn’t sure what it would look like but 5 months in and I’m loving it. I do get tired of the “Santa Clause “ remakes because my beard is pretty much all white.
Fantastic looking beard sir!
So what Randy?? 😑

I have been fortunate to have a full beard since my teen years and experienced some remarks that were very hurtful. It took me a very long time to get over . I know where you are coming from. Keep up the good work Greg you inspire quite a few guys out there.
i have a lot of respect for the fact that you are giving me some real information on beards, how things are going to be as it grows, and what products are actually going to do rather than telling me a bunch of crap just to get me to buy a bunch of them like so many companies do (ie: the whole buy all of our product line because if you dont buy everything you wont get a full beard or a nice looking beard crap). big respect for the honesty, i will be watching more beardbrand videos. thanks.
Thanks for the feedback man!

Same here. I'm 39 and finally have great growth. Super fast growth, too, and I wonder if my change to a healthy diet made as much difference as it seemed to make.
@@jeffxgoodman67 So...you are saying growth can change after a couple of years?. I can only grow hairs on my chin and thats it...
Between the ages of 33 and 39 my beard really started filling out in places where it didn't grow before. I'm no expert, but I know that mine filled in.
I really hope I get there. 32 and I have mostly full "coverage" but not quite as dense as I would like.
We're about the same age and I remember how preoccupied I was as a teenager and in my twenties. The space between my mustache and my beard didn't fill in as hard as I tried. There was a gap on the sides of my mouth as my beard did not connect with my mustache. Now in my late 50s and I enjoy a full beard I no longer have to worry about gaps. Patience is the most important thing in beard growth.
I appreciate your candor and apparent transparency. It's also worth mentioning some men have issues growing beards or growing full beards because of stress in their lives. Indeed stress can cause hair loss, even on the face!
Thank you for your feed back. Just recently my husband is rocking a full beard and I love it. Thank you for being one of the awesome women that dig a natural beard. It is seriously 50/50... some women compliment my beard, and others give me a look of disgust. Kudos to your husband for being one of the guys that isn't swayed by modern culture to have a baby face!

Growing my first beard ever at 63 it’s been 3 weeks and the itching is getting better but its seems to be filled in pretty good, not sure how long but giving it a go!
Make sure to keep your beard moisturized. Beard oils and butters help stop the itchiness. Beard hair pulls the from your face to the hair, which causes the itchiness.

I have a cedarwood comb that I use on my beard when it gets itchy (especially around the chin). The initial growth is the itchiest, but using product and combing helps.

Great video, enjoyed it.
My profile pic here was about 10 years ago at age 45. At 55 I am growing it out as a full beard for the first time in my life. Like Greg, I don't think I was able to grow a full beard until around now. But also, until I found Beardbrand videos, again like Greg, I never got past the 30 day marker. I am now 6 weeks in and I can tell it's going to take a full six months but I can tell with the knowledge I have now that I will be able to have a much better looking beard eventually but I have to get through these awkward months. Thanks to Greg Brezynski and Beardbrand. Because of Beardbrand and Greg in specific I am looking forward to seeing what is to come. And I'm now enjoying the journey.
Thank you. This video was very helpful I've always been impatient and shaved it after 2 months. I'm at the 2 month mark now and going to keep pressing on!

Nice video. I am growing a beard for the first time. I use to always keep a goatee. But now
I want to see what it is like for a full beard with length. Wish me luck and keep up the great
vids!
Mech did you grow it out?
I started growing a goatee in my early 40’s. It wasn’t thick at first but I stayed at it. Each year I noticed it thickening up but could not grow a good beard. I am 64 now and my facial hair is still coming in. This year I tried a beard once more for about 10 weeks. Still a little patchy but much thicker so for me my facial hair is still coming in and before I’am 65 I believe I will sport a full beard.
I never thought about the process of growing a beard so I appreciate your thoughts on the process. Beard On!
Mr. Berzinsky, your beard is GORGEOUS! I'm a lady who appreciates a man's beard and it's nice to see men allowing their beards to grow.
Greg, you have the most beautifull beard. It truly looks amazing
I just can't help but be mesmerized by how his mustache is twitching as he talks xD
Great to see the picture of you in your 30s, gives me hope now I'm 31 that my beard will thicken up and come in better over the next 20 years! The area joining my sideburns to the goatee has finally filled in and I'm growing the beard out again. patches under my lip and a low cheek line are the areas I hope to see fill in in the not to distant future
as someone in their early 30's with a patchy beard, it was nice to hear that there's still time for it to fill out
Good story. Nice to know my beard is always developing.
Now that was encouraging. At 22 I tried to grow a beard for 3,5 months, and the result was awfull, so I decided to shave it off. Now I am 24 and I have a 4 month old moustache (no trimming, going for a handlebar) and while it is by no means as impressive as my friends beards, after I had been growing if for 3 months I actually started to recive compliments for it, and, more importantly, started to like it myself. I had no idea that beard growth continues to develop for so long, because most of my friends had full beards when they were 16 or 17. Thank you for making this video.
I'm glad you like the video. Many things can happen even within 6 months as your beard continues to come in ....keep on going.
I couldn't grow a halfway decent beard until about age 35. Even then it was still a little patchy, but it filled in pretty well once I was patient enough to let it grow for a while.
I’m 18 and just letting it grow
Just use minoxidil...
Same here, it grows pretty well on my chin. But not on my cheeks at all, so after growing it for like 3 months. It looked pretty ridicolous.
I am 54 years old now, I have only ever gone about one month with my beard and then shaved it off, this is mainly because people I know start telling me that it makes me look old, makes me look scruffy etc. so now I am going to ignore them all after seeing your videos and go full growth. thank you for the confidence boost.
Yes. I am the twenty percent. That makes me so happy! I have the same hair at 37 and I am seeing more and more hair to begin to grow. Time is the key!

Once I started to lose my hair, pretty fast around 25, my beard growth really sped up. Is that coincidense or normal?
" I did not go bald, my hair just moved to a better place"
-Some dude on the internet
No it’s not a coincidence, the DHT hormone that causes hair loss is what promotes beard development. Usually people with really thick beards also start to bald. It’s not always the case Bc there’s some lucky mfs out there lol
Probably. Im 35 and my hairline is receding a bit, yet im noticing more facial and chest hair growth.
Thanks for this, really want a full beard like yours! I’m 27 and I have the same facial hair you had basically and I do still see some growth. I’m hopeful I’m like you. Happy holidays
That picture of you at 30 has filled me with hope! I'm 24 and can grow quite a thick beard on my cheeks, sideburns and neck but my chin/soul patch and moustache look exactly like that photo of you at 30 and it frustrates me. I also have the same bald patches either side of the soul patch/chin as you in the photo. Hopefully over the next few years all of this will fill out and become thicker with more coverage. I'm gonna keep faith.
Thank you for this video.

I've been growing a beard for about 5 weeks. The attention that I've received is priceless ! It seems a beard can make you more attractive and sexy !
Just wait until you have grown a beard out for a 3 months, 6 months, 1 year! Guys get some serious beard envy.
Troy, I can hardly wait !
Troy Remy when you say a year. Do you mean by not touching it at all or cutting off some parts?
@@alanfernandez2598
Not touching it at all. Only use beard balm to shape it. This is because I was going for a long beard from the start that I wanted to sculpt. I did trim away some annoying fly away hairs, but that is all.
So maybe there's hope for my patchy thin beard with lots of vellus hairs. At 35, I am now looking forward to see how it develops towards my 40's and beyond. Thanks for the video!
Dude...you look like a freakin god. The whole look, the style, the elegance...them freakin eyes...damm... I wish i grow to have at least half your style knowledge. You are amazing!
What I will say may not apply to you Greg;
I have seen than most men going on TRT at age 40-50 saw a huge development of their facial hair. The light and translucid hairs that everyone has since birth can only grow and become dark and thick (terminal hair) with the right amount of Dihydrotestostérone (DHT) stored around the folicle. This hormone is the result of the transformation of testosterone in the folicle by the enzyme 5 alpha reductase. It is known than after 25-30 years old (on average), the testosterone decreases by 1% every year. It is still possible to just being able to grow a full beard at 40-50 by getting the right amount of DHT around the folicle even with the tesosterone decreasing but most of the time, it's because of the high level of testosterone coming from TRT so easily prescribed, especially in the US.
I was saving this for another topic.. I do know guys at the gym who have Used testosterone replacement therapy and did indeed increased the density and coarseness of their facial and body hair. I might add, while sacrificing their head hair. Although some of these guys made it have been using more extreme enhancements
Another really good video, Greg. You have the hairstyle that I am trying to achieve. Decided to show my barber this video and hopefully he can replicate, as close as possible. A hair-related question: What product do you use in your hair?
This is actually the last haircut that Justin Barber gave me..... It has grown out incredibly well.. I use temple sea salt spray religiously.. Letting my hair mostly air dry... And finishing with a spritz of hair spray in the front
Thanks!
I'm 41 and for the first time in my life am growing a successful beard with a little over a month in. Before this year it was always super patchy.
My beard starting growing when I was 16 almost 17 (thin, a bit patchy). I'm 21 now and it's a majestic beard. Every 6 - 8 months I trim it down to start over. I do use vitamins and beard oil. But it's for my hair to have that volume and look fuller like he said.
Great beard! Legendary mustache!!
What types of beard oil do you recomend for making my beard look voluminous/full?
Thanks.
I am one of the lucky guys who now at the age of 37 have a beard thet grows nice and thick and fast. Great video thanks...keep growing💪
Im 35 and my beard is definitely getting thicker and fuller the older I get, I think it will continue to get better and better the older I get. My beard is a brownish red and I still have some blondish hairs around my lower lip and my upper cheeks, I think when your beard is totally mature all hairs turn the color of your beard and then you will know your beard has reached peek maturity. I seen a video on here with Eric talking about that once.
When my beard starts looking thick my family members' adrenaline kicks in and I have to shave it.
What do you mean their adrenaline kicks in and you have to shave?
@@AL1KH4N That they probably criticize him and tell him to shave it off.
So freaking true, lmaooooo

I have a calico beard (black, brown, and red) and I get asked all the time if I color it that way. Haha
ben Glass my beard is pretty much brown with red hairs through out. But my mustache has more red in it with a blond patch in the middle. It annoys me when asked if I color that way
I must commend you on your epic face furniture, myself ive had a goatee since my early 20,s and it seemed to me after i let it grow on a regular basis when i shaved it off for a fresh start the patched id let grow grew back in much faster than the rest . Since i hit 40 my facial hair growth has gone crazy allowing me to grow a pretty astounding handlebar with a pointed goatee and wicked sideburns , im now 44 and ive decided to go full on beardy its been growing a month and im starting to get that north atlantic fisherman look , i can't wait for it to be longer / chuckle , thanks for the video :D
Looking good Greg! I'm a prior service civilian working with the military. Most of the comments I get from the envious, clean cut service men and women I work with suggest my beard gives me super human strength. For example, if they are having trouble with their work that requires some strength they shout, "Bring that beard over here." Or if I'm having trouble with something they say, "Use your beard." I joke that I am a "professional pickle jar opener." The only negative comments I get are from my dad. He always tells me it looks better when it was shorter, or the old take one step closer to the razer joke.
You look like the kind of gentleman who knows how to make a perfect brisquet, owns a modest collection of artwork, and cooly races a vintage Ferrari on the weekends... 👍
I use to have a beard witch i grew for about two years. I got kind of the same questions, and i didn't mind. People are curious about something they don't have or can't have. Some ladies even asked if they could touch it. But there was one thing that offended me extremely and i got confronted with it every day, sometimes multiple times a day. My beard is black (Very dark brown, but it looks like it's black) and i have a relatively pale skin, and I got sick of being called a terrorist all the time. Questions like: Are you leaving to Syria? Are you joining ISIS? It came to a point where i got so frustrated about it, i just shaved it. That was around the time with the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels. People think they're funny but a few times i almost lost control because to me those are extremely offensive things to say. Maybe i'm just not mature enough to handle the negatives, who knows?...
This actually just gave me a lot of hope. I'm 31 and my facial hair is very similar to the pictures of Greg at 30.
I can relate to what he says about being able to grow more of a beard now that when younger. I'm the same age as this guy (56) and have just now gotten where I can grow a decent beard. Finally growing a full beard for the first time and my wife LOVES it!
Sometimes the journey takes a little longer then we expect! Keep it up, man.

I started growing my beard at 13... so yeah im a vet.
Same but I hated it & shaved every day. Now I’m 18 & gonna give it a try
Wow I really can't picture the grungy guy in the old pic sounding so serene.
As I've gotten older my demeanor has become more chill. But, I'm really the same guy that I was when I was 30
I think the hard work required to become successful and probably building a family tends to have that effect on people.
have you done otoplasty?
Daniel-- I have not had my ears pinned. My face is broader, and my sideburn hair is covering more of my ears. My ears, like my nose, have actually gotten a bit bigger as I have aged, and I think that they hang lower now.

Like you Greg, my facial hair is still filling in and I'm almost 53. The handlebar stache I had at 24 was loaded with wax to make it look full. I shaved that off and it finally grew in when I was 27. The beard has frustrated me to no end and I just shave it when I don't get the results I want. Maybe I'll find patience for my beard someday.
You sir give me beard hope. I’m one of those fuys in his 30s that can’t grown much facial hair. My dad and brother can grow a beard in a week. However; they both lost their hair in their 20 and mine is still growing strong
Stay Thirsty My Friend! oh wait, wrong guy LoL
I think a lot more guys’ beards get thicker and fuller after their 40s, it’s just that most continue to assume they can’t grow a beard and so never grow it out to see.
I agree. A unknown loss of potential great beards!
Looks great! Mine is about 4 months and people don't believe it either or wonder what I use. I'm 38 and it grows much better than when I was younger. I think some of it is hormones as I am much healthier and weight train more now.. I do use oils etc but as he's stated it just keeps the beard from breaking and creates a healthy shine. It also helps keep mine straight as I have curly hair. At my growth rate I plan to keep it going and excited to see a year. Already placed in a competition in top 10 out of over 100!
Thanks for your openness
