Arcueid Brunestud (アルクェイド・ブリュンスタッド, Arukueido Buryunsutaddo?) is the princess of the True Ancestors. She is the main heroine Tsukihime A piece of blue glass moon and the Tsukihime Remake series.
Artoria Pendragon (アルトリア・ペンドラゴン, Arutoria Pendoragon?, also romanized as Arturia and Altria), Class Name Saber (セイバー, Seibā?), is one of the main characters of Fate/Zero and one of the three main heroines of Fate/stay night. She is the Saber-class Servant of Kiritsugu Emiya in the Fourth Holy Grail War and Shirou Emiya in the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Arcueid and Excalibur being "cousins" sounds really weird but I guess it makes sense.
Technically both are from the same "mother" (Planet/Gaia) although they have different parents. The Fae for creating Excalibur while Crimson Moon as Arcueid's father. Also, True Ancestors like Arcueid are born as a substitute of being Type-Earth, so they act as the Planet's defense mechanism. Arcueid's true identity, Archetype: Earth, does that. On the other hand, Excalbur was created in order to protect mankind. It gets fully unsealed if the enemy is an alien and is a huge threat.
Huh. Since they're both planetary defense mechanisims, I wonder what would happen if they met other powerful characters from other franchises, since I wonder how powerful they would need to be if they had to stop Sonic or Dragon Ball esque threats.
Hence the madhouse in Lostbelt 6 went utterly out of control? Correct me if I am wrong, but since Artoria rejects the sword... Alright, I need to lay down real quick... I cant handle that much of a headache all at once...

Carnival Phantasm is kind of the exception. I believe it was stated/mentioned somewhere that if Shirou and Shiki ever met the first reaction would be " I can't stand this guy-!" or something to that effect.

It's two heroine's fighting each other, this is gonna be pretty chaotic isn't it?
I know it doesn't apply here, both because Arcuied is not undead/ is not even really a vampire in any traditional sense, and because Type Moon has carefully stayed away from the generic fantasy concept of holy power vs unholy power, but a small part of me will always be sad that Excalibur doesn't doesn't repel or deal extra damage to vampires the same way a Black Key would. As the strongest holy sword in existence I cant help but feel that its earned that perk.
Maybe if one day FGO or other entries decide to add Dead Apostle enemies, they might want to give Artoria and Arthur an anti-vampire buff?
I mean, fanservice as it may be, Excalibur _WAS_ capable of killing Roa for good in this ending, so I guess you could say it _HAD_ the same effect as a Black Key on him, only 1000x stronger.
But yeah, Arcueid is a different story because she's a True Ancestor. Both her and Excalibur literally share the same parent! (Gaia)
@@MrDibara Also Arthuian myth has virtualy no overlap with vampire lore, meaning that anti vampire powers should have trouble crystalizing within heroes of that mythological cycle. :(
King Arthur once stabbed a giant in the balls with Excalibur though, cleaving his nutsack in twain and killing him. If I cant have anti vampire powers then the ability to inflict total scrotal implosion on giantkind as a conceptual weapon is next up on my list.
Come to think of it, Type Moons failure to elaborate on that story nearly constitutes a dereliction of duty in my eyes.
Well, Excalibur is both a holy and divine sword. If it was created with the purpose of exorcism then it would deal more damage, but since it isn't, it won't deal more damage.
The reason why black key works on vampires is because it prevents their regeneration ability, not because "haha, holy grail goes brrrr"

Yes but Excalibur is a whole other story
Kind of. Arcueid's ability basically accounts for all of the individual's physical abilities but basically ignores weapons & doesn't make her immune to conceptual bullshit. It's why Nasu said she's weakest against someone like Gil or by extension Emiya, since those two are weak physically but make up for it with weapons much more powerful than they are; gate of babylon and unlimited blade works.
In this case, Arc's physical abilities will be 1 level above saber's but won't account for excalibur.
@@goldenbrigain7031 arcuied was tanking an Excalibur tier mystery (Calvaria Star) quite well, in the Ciel route. She was only killed by the ground (which was elevated to her standing) being used to crush her.

AFAIK the planet only limit Arcueid combat power not her immortality and toughness. Even when she's severely weakened after getting chopped to 13 pieces, Shiki still can't see her line of death during the night and it's very faint during the day.
@@goldenbrigain7031 Nasu said Gil and no it cannot be extended to EMIYA. The principle between the two is different since EMIYA skill is given by the planet and limited to only swords while Gil is based on his own treasure and not limited to swords.
Not to mention EMIYA UBW is utterly useless against Arcueid that literally have the authority to overwrite reality. Do not forget that Arcueid is literally the strongest terminal of the planet.. she's basically the GM of Earth
Also I believe that Gil can actually pose trouble to Arcueid is due to his overwhelmingly powerful weapon (Ea). I mean it won't be funny if Arc lose to Astolfo under the same principle right?
Thus the question is can Arc tank Excalibur rank damage? The odds are pretty good since Arc is higher than Divine spirit and if we based on FGO she's basically lostbelt king rank or stronger.. the type of enemy that can shrug Excalibur level of damage any day of the year

Since Shirou is one of the 27 Dead Apostles (#18) and is slated to kill all of them, then Saber won't have much to worry from Arcueid.
Enhance is not Shirou, nor is he "slated" to kill the Dead Apostle Ancestors, he's just an Ancestor who has a habit of killing other Dead Apostles.

@@derekbates4316 It was never said, lol. Enhance killed one Ancestor, and is described as not being very strong compared to the others. He's only twice as strong as someone who is far from Ancestor level, and the higher end ones make stuff of that level seem like child's play.
And no, it doesn't describe Emiya at all. Emiya doesn't look like Dante from DMC, Enhance doesn't use anything resembling Projection, and Emiya doesn't wield a holy gun. Their personalities are also completely different, and not even the age fits, as Enhance is described as "relatively" young for a vampire, which is still in the realm of hundreds of years, when Shirou should be 13-17 by the time of Tsukihime (pre-Remake).

Also, there are no organization called "the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors"; while the members of it still exists in Fateverses too, they never reached the strenght to create such organization.
(Btw, not only in Strange Fake there is a Dead Apostle, Sion in Chaldea is actually one too, and remember that, in FGO timeline, it was the living Dantès who killed Roa)
