- I would say in my graphic design career, poster design is one of my specialties. I have been designing movie posters since I worked at an agency in Hollywood and up until now in most of my client and personal work. So when this poster project came into my inbox, I was stoked to work on it!
I hope you enjoy this graphic design process of creating a poster design for a real-life indie film!

The collage weave is so cool! I really enjoy videos like this that show the whole process - it makes it less overwhelming to me to see how others go about a project and how they present work. That is definitely something I still need to work on!
00:52 The first image for “Humphrey Bogart” was designed by a graphic designer I really like called Hans Hillmann who’s work you can find on the Hans Hillmann Archive which has hundreds of his works from Posters, Editorial Layout, Book Covers and Illustration.
Jesse, I just wanna say it's so so hard to find other graphic designers on this platform who's both down to earth but informative and inspirational with their work and projects. You show your process in a nice and simple way, and don't need to be flashy and loud about it. It really pushes me to want to do more projects! Thank you for your vids and keep it up!
Weird question. Once a movie poster is selected as the one, do you also print them as the designer ? Or does the client take care of it? Like the actual posters that will be posted everywhere. Also - LOVE your content! Appreciate you holding this space. I'm learning so much from you! Thank you!
youre amazing bro, im in love with all 3 options
its always so cool to see your process! thankss
I love all options as well, You nailed it! ✨
Dude i love u so much. Your videos give me sm comfort and stretch my views and ideas for possibilities of creative decisions xdd
This is awesome, love the final result! The whole idea of creating mood boards including your own work is really cool
Thank you for the clear process, this was incredibly insightful and makes me want to make more stuff :)
early asf. i always look forward to your vids Jesse. Keep it up
I really like the Design option 001 and the second. Its artistic and symbolic. ❤❤
I love you way of explaining! It helps so much thank you
Some fantastic typography examples I’m glad the client chose your more experimental version in the end!
awes work!! 🔥🔥
Vou continuar acompanhando. Trabalho lindo mano!
Thanks for sharing!
Like that you shared the presentation deck. the weave version was really good.
just found that movie poster website myself last week! really good resource.
collage was brilliant 🤍
Your content is so inspiring. I am in my first year of studying graphic design.
Good Luck!
Jesse, This was cool as f word
Hey dude can you make a video on grids and guidelines? I think it would be so helpful even if you did presets for free to help the community. I think so many people sell them which I get but also we wanna grow and educate the community not just make money off of them all the time.
It's so nice to see polish posters here as your inspiration :) I'm a Pole. Greetings :)
The apostrophe could’ve been a dice! That would be a cool addition
Thank you very much for this video. Your style shines through, absolutely. Could I ask if you could make a video about actually preparing the graphic for print and what we have to take into consideration there? Resolution? Image quality? Paper of choice? Anything you feel would be important - I am sure you have a lot to share: ) Thank you!
designs look great jesse! thanks for sharing. what type of paper do you use for printing out your images to do your collage work?
just white thinnish card stock
Hey, how do you make these Phase texts? Do you use displacement maps in AE?
amazing work, jesse! what is the name of the book cover catalog you used for research?
masala noir - book covers
How do u extract images from movies and videos without losing quality (as you do when you take a screenshot for example)? Love your work and love learning from your design process!
yuup, just did screenshots for those
Can you tell me what books are those?
🥶
What kind of questions do you ask your clients?
name of the two books dear ?
really want those names too
I like it but it doesn't look like a movie poster it looks more like an awesome ad poster
