      The dumbbells are really tight in the clamps as they barely fit. I have to squeeze them pretty hard to get them locked, but once set, they are great. Balance overall is good as long as you use the same weight on both ends.

    Would you please be able to tell me how thick (not estimated but measured) the open Jayfley Hyperbell clamp is?
    Nowhere could I find this information and given that I have the Powerblock Sport 24 - which do not have the to barrels for the 2 cylindrical extra weights in the handle, if thin enough (34mm max) the open clamp would easily slip between handle and the single stabilizer plate at the bottom of the grip module.
    If anyone knows the thickness of the opened clamp, that would be great!

    Looks like a great product. My issue, however, is that when Jayflex did move "up" from the Cross Grips to the Ryze Ups, the quality went down and used more plastic rather than less, not up in quality with a product with the material of the Cross Grips. So the track record here in improving upon an original idea isn't very encouraging.

    I’d have liked to see how you get into a bench press or squat. If I’m squatting with 70 or 80 lb dumbbells, seems like I have to overhead press that to start , and then how do I unwind that when I’m done with my set and tired??

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Před rokem +4

      This is actually one of the main reasons I don't do squats with it. You would have to "clean and press" it into position for a back/front squat. Instead, I just hold the dumbbells themselves for those exercises. It work's well for RDLs though.

    Great review, but what's the reason for going slow on your reps? Thanks in advance

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Před rokem +2

      It is to keep constant tension on the target muscle group. If you lift fast, momentum will assist the dumbbell taking some of the tension off the muscles until you "catch" it when it slows down. You don't have to go super slow, I just say do a speed you can control to stay in good form.
