      I notice on my stove that the smaller elements have pigtail ends whereas the large elements have blade ends. Is this normal? Are they interchangeable? I need to replace one, and was wondering if it matters which kind of end I got?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před 2 lety +3

      @@squatch545 Thanks for watching. Ultimately it doesn't matter if its a pigtail or blade style terminal as long as there is a good connection. Receptacle kits come in full length kits and universal wire splicing kits. With the pigtail connectors you can always use a universal kit and use heat shrink to seal the connection. www.amresupply.com/catalog/Element-Receptacles-Contacts-632521-AD1H

      The receptacle kit I bought from Amre didn't have the wire already connected to the black plastic terminal. I made a mistake of connecting the wire to the wrong end of the terminal. When I try to plug in the heating element it wouldn't fit and it puzzled me for a good 15 minutes. Looking back, the instruction do have a very small graphic showing the correct orientation. I managed to undo the wire and plug back to the right way and everything work out.

    how do i check to see if the wires coming from the infinite switch that connects to the terminal block has power/ or carries voltage to the block?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. We don't show live voltage testing, only continuity tests in our video. This video shows how to test the infinite switch to see if it has failed as well as checking the element, and the wires for continuity through the back. czcams.com/video/I7i25VPg-rM/video.html

    did this and when i turned the break box back on the stover spark fire and started to smoke some is that normal ????

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for watching. If there are sparks, or smoke, that is not normal and you should always immediate shut off the breaker. With the power off you can check the connections and see if there is any melted wires or burn marks. Double check to make sure there are no short circuits, or any part of a wire or connector touching another wire or the metal housing.

    Hi, my receptacle box just slid off from the burner part as I lift the stove up occasionally to clean underneath all burners and stove top. Do i just turn the stove off and slide the receptacle back to the burner? Does it actually attach to it or just hang on?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching. The receptacle screws into the metal rim around the burner. You can see this at 2:24 . If the receptacle slid off and there is nothing wrong with the wires then you can simply screw it back onto the mount.

    • @OceanMetTheSky
      @OceanMetTheSky Před rokem +1

      @@AmreSupply Hi thank you for the clarification. I guess i was not saying it right. The receptacle part in 2:24 of the video is on the burner and attached on mine but the little black box (on 3:34 of your video)that slides into it fell out, though theres nothing wrong with it.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před rokem +1

      @@OceanMetTheSky Thank you for clarifying. The black box is technically called the receptacle, and the silver part is the mounting bracket (which does not make contact with the terminals and just helps hold it all in place)
      You might notice several tabs on the side of the black receptacle. These will fit into several grooves on the mounting bracket. You might have to use pliers to help bend these back into place if they are loose.
      If the metal is warped and can't be bent into a way that is secure, then you could buy a new mounting bracket (you wouldn't have to install and wire a new receptacle unless the mounting tabs were of a different shape).

      @@AmreSupply Thank you very much for all the helpful information. It is very appreciated. I received a new stove about 2 months ago from my complex so i dont think anything is warped, i just knocked the black box off the burner when raising up the stove top to clean. I may ask maintenance to take a look at it and reattach it even though your description was very easy. Just to be sure. Thank you again for the detailed help as well as video.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching. Do you mean that the stove drip bowl (drip pan) won't fit after installing a new receptacle?
      Or do you mean that the receptacle mounting bracket isn't fitting properly?
