    9-10kpl is not fuel efficient 😢. They make huge claims of 18-20kpl mileage while selling the 1.0L version.

      This was in the hills. As you know, driving in the hills is way less efficient. The company claims are based on ARAI tests which are not as demanding. In real world conditions the SKODA 1.0 gave me an overall mileage figure of 13.7 kmpl…which isn’t bad at all

    Is 1 lite tsi engine reliable?? And found any vibrations in steering wheel??? Compared to Honda City , will it give better mileage???

    • @MotorScribes
      @MotorScribes  Před rokem +3

      The 1 l TSI is a reliable engine. It does duty in the skoda as well as VW line up and is quite peppy as well. We don't sense any steering shake either. As for mileage it gives between 10-12 in city and we have ours giving between 16-18 on highway drives.

    What is life of 1 L turbo engine? ( if maintain well)

    • @MotorScribes
      @MotorScribes  Před rokem

      You should be able to get 1L km very easily if not more.

  • @utkarshsrivastava3131

    Is it absolutely necessary to use XP95 petrol in Slavia 1.0 MT, is using normal petrol will cause engine troubles?

    • @MotorScribes
      @MotorScribes  Před rokem +3

      I have been using normal petrol for 6 months now…no trouble at all.

    Hi brother, i recently purchased skoda slavia 1.0 MT style, its been a week since then i drove the car for around 100kms.. firstly i filled petrol for 16L and took the car from showroom at 24kms. at 2nd petrol refill i can see the car completed almost 90-95 kms. which means i drove 70kms with 5-6kmpl mileage in the bangalore city. i doubt the mileage really falls under 6-7kmpl in city, havent tried in highways yet. i am worried about this .

    • @MotorScribes
      @MotorScribes  Před 3 měsíci

      In city mileage should be higher than what you got. But before you get worried, remember, mileage depends on a lot of things…number one is the distance you drive. Shorter drives in traffic will result in lower mileage. City drive cycles tend to average out better when you check your monthly usage. Checking over 90km of driving won’t give you the right picture. Do a tank to tank check..tank up, drive till you get down to 1/4 and then tank up. See how much fuel goes in at that time and calculate consumption based on how many km you drove on that much fuel…

      @@MotorScribes Sure thanks. so the MID which gives you avg mileage is wrong ? and another thing is tank to tank method works for everytime ? lets say first time i am checking tank to tank and drive for some kms and check mileage. it gives some value. if i check tank to tank next time in same city, the difference between first time and now will be less or it will be huge?

    • @MotorScribes
      @MotorScribes  Před 3 měsíci

      @@vigneshwaran289 The MID isn’t wrong. It actually does a good job of giving you the average that you are getting. Tank To Tank is just a more precise way to check. Since you will know exact litres consumed for exact kms driven (it is the manual way to calculate). Depending on your driving, prevailing conditions etc, it can change. For example, if you drive only in peak traffic time, you might get 5-7. If you drive during the rainy season where roads get clogged and you are stuck in traffic, it might drop to 4-5. You drive at night when there is less traffic it will go up to 11-12. So all these factors affect mileage. Short distances with multiple start stop scenarios are another example. By looking at your average over a longer period of usage, you will get a better understanding of your fuel economy. A case in point is my diesel Hyundai Creta. On most days it is used only for a 3 km commute. I get 8.8 kmpl on that trip. On weekends I go for longer drives and I get 14-15kmpl. This is all in the hills as I live in Kodaikanal, so terrain also impacts my mileage. Over a month I average out at around 12 kmpl. Hope that gives you a better understanding.

      @@MotorScribes Thanks a lot for precise answers. i got many comments that i need to go for long drive like in highways or drive 1000kms to tune the engine then mileage will be good. if i keep on driving in city i will get less only. its been 2 weeks , the car is new. i have filled around 31Liters petrol and i have driven 170kms still 50 kms left. so if you calculate , i might get around 5-6kmpl. so they told me to try long distance travel then tune the engine then you might get more than 10-12kmpl in city and 15+ in highways. as of now past 5 days i can see 8-11kmpl inside city as i have not taken my car to office or any other place such. just driven inside bangalore city. will be helpful is this myth (tuning engine by driving in highways or drive more. than 1000kms to get good mileage)

      Not really. The Slavia 1.0 TSI is actually very efficient. I had one for 6 months in the long term fleet and it was stunning to see how it performed in terms of overall efficiency
