- September 23, 2010 Our Kazakhstan Toddler Adoption Story. We are home today for 6 months with the little boy we had waited so long to love. This video is a comprehensive look at our adoption from inception of thought to now and forever. Every day we make up for the lost time our son had without the love of a family. How did you chose Kazakhstan?
Hanna thanks for watching. To be honest, I started our researching Romania which is where my grandparents were born. When I found out Romania was closed to US adoptions at the time (not sure about now), I almost gave up. Something compelled me to continue to research countries that were open to US adoptions. In 2008, when we began the process, I had not been familiar with Kazakhstan. I learned about the country and found others on the internet who adopted from there and it felt like I was led to a new place where a child was waiting for me.

Hanna this is wonderful. I wanted to adopt a child since I was 18. I never thought it would happen in a way. I got married and had two biological children. And then at some point I felt I wouldn’t be living my truth if I didn’t pursue adoption. I am so thankful I did. Stephanie, I had never seen your video - it is so amazing and almost directly mimics ours, it brought tears to my eyes. Though we've never face to face, I feel as if we are close friends, having gone through such similiar journeys, bringing our 3rd child home, with our other children waiting. Major is gorgeous. I love Kazak children's chubby cheeks. My sis and bro=in=law adopted a boy and a girl from there. The boy, Brody was 8 months at the time and is now 12. If you sent me a quick message with your e-mail address I could send you a pic of him so you can see how gorgeous he is. It somewhat will let you see how your son will look in adolescence. My nephew Brody could be a model. The children over there are gorgeous.
