I think the fans needed this, as an arsenal fan who use to fear to play against Kane and Son.
The team has had numerous opportunities to get a trophy better chances than Arsenal to be fair, and they continue to bottle.
Now you see a team that had arguably on paper a massive upgrade compared to last season and continue to miss opportunities to beat teams they use to dominate against in previous years.
I hate spurs, but I do think the team overall needed to be AIRED out and a massive apology to the fans that have to watch their team play like this.

It's about raising the expectations at the club. You can't be satisfied with mediocrity if you want to achieve anything. Conte knows this is way to win things. He's shaking up the club, or attempting to as you enter the final stretch of games for top 4. He did this last season after losing to Burnley as well.

How many players did he bring in? Lenglet on loan because they didn’t want to buy a couple of defenders? Perisic on a free? Bentancour and Kulusevski have been class, but have had injuries. Danjuma and Spence weren’t his signings. I’m not even sure if Richarlisson was, but he has begun to show his class recently too - he’s now injured

*this is de historie oz de Tottenham;*
Hopefully after this he'll do the next best thing an *jump ship with Kane an Son in tow;*
Who wud blame him- "every man f himself an all that?"

Conte might be right but I somehow don't think this will fire up the players. Plus 2/3 of the Tottenham players are simply not good enough for challenge anything beyond top 4

What about xhaka? We are at the top of the league and a year ago most of this squad was considered not even top 4 quality but he fought and fought even after his debacle with us. So yes it is the players’ fault, they are not willing to change.

I agree with Conte. The players lack passion and heart irrespective of the managers they have had. Kane and other leaders of the club should be instilling that into incoming players. I don't see that happening.

Managers are scape goats. All he has control over is "Here's the team I want on the pitch, I want you to try and play this way"
It's up to the players to actually play football and at the end of the day, they have the ability to try and sort things out themselves while on the pitch. He didn't make them defend horribly and concede the goals, the players did.
He has brought in a chunk of players into this team and the team is fantastic on the counter but the problem is they are all a liability defensively so it's a double edge sword playing that way.
    ----
The whole club needs a rinse.

In March of last season, Conte did the same thing. Remember the "carrot and the stick" analogy he used to explain it? There are many truths in what he said. There are many things that he neglects to mention. On the one hand, he is telling the truth and on the other, he is being performative. This is who Conte is.

  • @DSingh4809
    @DSingh4809 Před rokem +1

I agree with the Robbie that said this is what we want to see. We want to see the owners and players get blasted. You talk about the money spent, but that was on less than 6 players. Lenglet wasn’t his choice and he didn’t even try to defend, same with dier. Trash defense is the reason this team can’t win. Romero is the only good defender, somewhat with Davies.

Transfers have been shite he or no manager will win feck all with this team .Over half the squad need gone
