    I have had it for a week, a spartan engraver (it does not have endstops, which in my opinion are not essential) and with an improved focus system but with a good ultrafine laser that made me understand how much my previous machine (Atomstack a5 pro) was inadequate by comparison. I believe that for value for money it is the best diode engraver on the market, for now.

      @@ivanfabian6398 Yep, on the controller board the sockets are labeled X, Y and Z (you'll only need the X and Y) and the wires supplied with the limit switches have the correct connectors on them so they just snap in. The wires then route out the same hole of the enclosure with the rest of them, the X axis kan be fastened along the X wire harness and the Y axis wire can be bundled up (it's too long) or made to length, wichever you prefer.

    Well, I'm certainly thankful you did this video. I've run into two issues before completing the assembly. One is I cannot square the frame. As I tighten the screws, the machine continually pulls out of square by 1/8" on the diagonal. Spacing between the rails however is consistent, side to side and front to rear. The front two corners are reasonably squared. This problem is irritating as I've been a cabinetmaker for almost 46 years and have squared many many cabinets. Other videos appear concerned with the 0,0 left front corner only. To what extreme should I go to squaring the entire frame? Problem 2 was gantry travel on the rails. It simply did not travel easily or smoothly. Thanks to your explanation regarding setting the eccentric adjustment of the wheels, I was able to loosen/adjust the gantry wheels to allow proper motion. Now, on to the belts. Can you advise me on how critical is absolute squareness? I assume the larger the engraving, the more critical the need for square. Thanks for your help.

      The software is Lightburn. The settings will vary depending on the acrylic. The diode laser will not engrave on clear acrylic. It must be black or a very dark color

    Great video. Ive had the Sculpfun s9 for about a month and i have a question. The wheels that ride ontop of the gantry leave a lot of black debris on the top of the gantry, but you cant see or feel any wear on the wheels. Also the stepper motor ontop of the gantry seem to be a bit noisy to me. Is this normal, or is something just not right? It seems to engrave and cut really good, but im kind of afraid it wont last.

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  Před 2 lety +1

      I would certainly heck to see if anything is rubbing on the wheels. Also, something may be binding. That is not normal from what you are describing

    Great video there! I'm wondering if you can help me out with a little problem I have. I just recently bought the Sculpfun S6 Pro and right out of the box it worked perfectly with Lightburn. Hello, I have started to follow you from Spain and I really like your explanatory videos since you do some very complete unboxing that ends with demonstrations of how the machines work and that is very interesting. I bought the same machine this Christmas but after 3 minutes of use, the laser began to lose power and stopped recording, now I am waiting for a new laser module from the manufacturer and I hope to have more luck and start doing work. I have read a lot about this machine but I can't find anything about the continuous working time of the laser, since if a job lasts 2 hours, can the laser be on all this time or does it have to pause every 10 minutes to cool down the laser and that does not burn?
    Greetings and have a good day.

    Want to buy one of these? There are other suppliers than Ban99ood.
    Choose your supplier wisely!
    I tried to order a S9 unit through them and got some nasty deception:
    Order processing forever despite the fact that the item is in stock and despite the tag proud boasting "5 days delivery", unability to cancel the order after 15days of waiting, even if not shipped yet...
    Time lost in useless chat with bot-like humans.
    Had to lay a claim by my credit card company, hoping to get money back.
    A total shame.
    Be wiser than I was.
