The Sakya Monastery was established in the 11th century, and expanded in the 13th century. It is the seat of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, that was very influential for a while in the
Tibetan history and especially in the 13-th century, when connected to the Mongol rulers of China.

Sakya , the great Sakya , land full of kind,humble people. My dad's hometown, so is my phayul . Thank you so much for this amazing video with peaceful music . My dad used to tell me his childhood memories that he have spent there sadly I never got a chance to visit that but would love to.

For.. As most of tibetan know that his holiness 41st Sakya Trichen Rinpoche took refuge in indian uttrakhand dehradun after the chinese incursion of tibet in 1959. If u do google and search about sakya.. Then u will get glimpse of idea that why we call free Tibet. Bhod gyalo

These are parts of the monks debates. According to Wikipedia: Some of the gestures (said to have symbolic value), made during the debates, generally subtle dramatic gestures are: clapping after each question; holding right hand and stretching left hand forward and striking the left palm with the right palm; clapping hands loudly to stress the power and decisiveness of the defender’s arguments denoting his self-assurance...etc...
