  • Nigerian writer and freedom of speech activist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie says America as a nation is crumbling. Free speech is being stifled and self-censorship is the order of the day. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie says she does not understand America's fascination with Donald Trump. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie contends that intellectual discourse is being muffled. It is a pity that children are not being taught the beautiful stories of Black Americans, she laments.

A patient once asked me where I went to nursing school and when I said Nigeria, she was shocked that we had schools in Africa. I had to educate that Africa is a continent and Nigeria is one of its countries and that we had schools all over. They are million times ignorant than you think. Just reading comments let’s you know people are so addicted to their opinions and programmed to think someone else’s opinion is attacking them personally. It’s sad. I don’t think America is about to collapse. But I know love and empathy for our fellow man is. That should always come first. The meaning of life is people. All people. Not just those that make you feel comfortable. Agendas change over time. The meaning of life for us has never changed. For our 200000 plus years on this planet. Love people. We all we got✌🏽

And Cuba. Americans are very insular. The primary and secondary schools don’t teach about other people, other cultures or any real history. It’s all American exceptionalism, manifest destiny and such. Even immigrants come here believing it of us so of course when reality comes into view, when the fact that a country that has not grappled with its own slave past cannot really bond with foreigners either. Disillusionment clouds the vision and the possibilities. These things contribute to the insularity as well. The comments on here reveal so little knowledge of Africa, even the current state of poverty and war are connected to the Europeans invasions and experiments on the continent where mankind originated. I’m with her on the left because the right doesn’t want people like me! Fine. Our best way to go anywhere globally is to educate from birth yo the grave, and make sure all peoples basic needs are met. She is right about not assuming the worst about people. At the same time, intelligent people can withstand hurt feelings. Lies may console and control but they’re useless in the end because a liar will steal and a thief will kill. Truth may hurt but it doesn’t kill.

America no longer have good music, good movie stars (all those people are DEAD), good politician's or even a system of government that is functioning (constant fighting by politicians who are bought out by special interest where nothing gets done). Race problems (especially when it comes to Blacks), their economy of capitalism constantly sell out their people and send their jobs to other countries. It has massive wealth gap between the Rich and the Poor. It pushes the ungodly LGBT movement, It is a mess and getting worst.

The ignorance of Musk and Bezos and those like them take the right people out of leadership. She is here, and she has a following but she should be so much more prevalent. The powerful keep us separate so that they can separately take our money and rights. Even Africans and African Americans they try to keep us from loving each other. "Nigeria" as a country did not have a role in slavery because it did not exist at that time. Back then Africa existed in tribes and kingdoms which do not necessarily align with countries (I.e., there was no tribe or kingdom called Nigeria. Nor did the tribes that make up Nigeria today exist in the same kingdom in the past) Nigeria as a country is a western construct officially formed by the British in 1914. There are tribes that would be part of modern day Nigeria that may have had a role in slavery. And there are tribes in modern day Nigeria that were enslaved. For example, I am from Nigeria. But my people, a smaller coastal tribe, were not enslavers but enslaved.

Chimamanda my con3 woman I hail oo.
I think one of the issues she has is her willingness to openly identify with a political tribe;Left/Liberal. People seldomly use their brains in a tribe as such, a deviation from tribal points immediately attracts barrage of insults etc. I think it would've served her mental health better if ab initio she let the left knw that she's no tribal pun rather having've both liberal and conservative ideologies with more left leaning ideologies. By that, she won't have to feel d stress of having to fit into a tribal box.
Take Elon Musk, Joe Rogan just to mention a few... They're left leaning men that dont readily identify themselves as leftist
I like to think of my self as a realist...who LOGICALLY thinks through and through into a subject b4 agreeing/disagreeing with it. With that mindset, I've found out that I agree more and more with conservative viewpoints than the liberal ideas....so I'm probably 75% conservative and 25% liberal.
I remember watching a lot of Trevor Noah's commedy material and thinking to my self that this guy is very brilliant, very funny, spontaneous, ideologically free, real, honest etc etc After joining that Liberal Network in the US it became so so obvious to me that he was massively massively limited in expression of his art/content. He definitely felt unnatural, predictable, less funny, less creative...Mehnnn, it's was sad watching someone as creative as Trevor sticking to some ridiculous leftist talking points and trying to make them sound cool...Just watch the video of him interviewing a Transwoman Cyclist...no logical push backs from what that man claiming to be woman said.. pathetic
That being said, I hope Chimamanda is creating more awareness of probably the BIGGEST issue that holds Nigeria (and Africa as a whole) back which is CORRUPT LEADERSHIP.
While she's here talking about the perceived 'issues' of the western/European world, I will argue that she should DO MORE talking on her platforms or world stage about these our STUPID AND USELESS African leaders who commit the worst forms of human rights abuse possibly in the whole planet by stealing, killing etc When we expose these idiots, they'll think twice b4 thinking of patronising medical care or schools for their kids or shopping with looted money outside the con3. Rather than pointing at the spec in the White Man's eyes, let's focus on removing the log in ours.
    Peace and Love

You’ve been in the states long enough to know the circumstance of Africans being here has less to do with your fabulousness --- although you are fabulous - than geopolitical chess moves. It is intentional manipulation intended to strategically disrupt the ADOS population while conveniently positioning African (and other imported alien populations) above ADOS. That’s our fight.
