- Welcome to the Cakes and Blahzaye Travel N Chow channel!
In this drive with me we are exploring the southside of Syracuse which is supposed to be the most ghetto area in the city. I didn't think that it was too bad.
Tell me what you think in the comments down below!
That's the 'Dirty North''
That is not the South side...that is definitely the North side.
that's what i'm saying
Exactly
I recognized the brick street hill. That's definitely the north side. Also, there is no park st. on the south side, only the north side.
Fr i am from the north side
You drove on Lodi St., John St., Pond St., Park st. and Kirkpatrick (my old street) with their neighboring streets - definitely North Side of Syracuse.
you know
You on the Northside yo!!! Im from the Eastside UPTOWN / HILLTOP Projects. Thats the Real hood!!! The Bricks is the REAL hood!!!
I lived there too Fayette St. .y Aunt was on Scott St
North Side Syracuse used to live there on n.state street glad I took Me and My family and left Syracuse NY now we are in SLC UTAH
I was raised in Syracuse back in the early 1989-2001. Wish I could go back and see all the love ones who had pass still there. I sometime would dreamed I was back in Syracuse and in time.😭😭
You didn’t cover a centimeter of south side 🤷🏽♂️😂 that’s part of north side you covered 🤦🏽♂️
Butternut street is the worst northside in Syracuse and this is northside an not Southside and nothing ain't the same anymore since I left Syracuse and everything changed every since I left Syracuse and I'll visit it in Syracuse to see family's and friends in Syracuse
please, i used to live at 477 james
That ugly white pile of blocks at the beginning is on Spencer St at VanRensselaer near the Inner Harbor on the Northside, not south. Then you cut to driving on Catawba & Lodi, etc, also on the Northside. There're some hoodie areas on all four sides on the 'Cuse. Too bad. It was a great town to grow up in. But for me that was way back in the '60s & '70s.
Clearly it's the Northside of syracuse
Thanks for the memories. I was born and raised in cuse town. I love out West know in Seattle. Been a very long time sense I been there. That tops use to be Wegmans on pond and first north. I went to grant middle school there on Grant Blvd, which you passed it . Thanks for video.
cuse town, corny. betcha bleed orange, always wanted to test that theory
@@intellectually_lazy Your name says it all. Can't fix stupid.
I used to go swimming at the pool at Grant in 1986-1987. I moved away thirty years ago. I’m in rural Colorado.
that's the North side not the Southside
Hey thanks! Ill make sure to triple check that next time
Syracuse- suns out, drugs out. Sun down, guns around
I've been going a long time but not that f****** long where the f*** is that the Syracuse I got to be Northside
Definitely Northside. I lived on Lodi as a kid and went to that school. It's called Franklin. Come-on you can fool us real Syracuse peeps
I was born in Syracuse but we moved to Ohio when I was 5, we have visited a few times as we still have family there. But I personally haven't been since 2005 and still want to go back
I left in fall of 2015 & haven't been back yet due to my health issues but I do want to get back for a visit...I do miss my hometown. From what I can see S Salina St looks quite different as I am sure downtown as well. I want to see what 81 and the Boulevard looks like.
Know y'all don't.You don't want to come back to this Mutha fucka
😂 I was tripping cause I grew up on the southside and what I'm eeeing here is definitely not the southside. Had to be northside cause I know nothing about the northside other than I always heard it was so dirty!!
good one from someone from the south side
LMAO because the Southside is so MUCH cleaner and pristine. GTFO.
You think the northside is dirty you haven’t taken a drive down south ave, Brighton ave, south Salina, Colvin pretty much the whole south side in quite a while.
@@mattbob6350 Northside has the Southside beat by a couple of miles...sorry (not sorry)!!
We lived on wolf street till I was 14 yo moved in 73 the north side was beautiful vibrant community what a waste
Horrific!.. lol.. like real ghetto. Dang..I was hoping for a decent neighborhood upstate NY..
thank you for the ride about: a boomer born in the later 40-s, left there three times, the
third time I didn't return. lived south of Senaca. As bad as some think it is: there are cities
in our nation that make this look up scale:
Back in the day, I recall parents would get cleaned up, even dressed up some just going
to Sears & Robots Store, or to go down town as it was known as back then. I liked the camping side which was detached from the primary
building. Bab-ruth base-ball, Valley Field days: Some of the kids back in the day:
We had plywood regulated Mic-rod car racing: I recall the races at the fair grounds. I think we weren't much older than 9 or 10 at the time, something 1956 58, ?
Christmas time, down town was really bustling, lots of people, the big attractions were all
about the animated Christmas store displays: pretty much every store front window had
something moving: dogs cats kids trains what all anymore not sure: There was a good chance you see other kids you knew from school, with their parents:
Back than, pretty much all of the men including some of the moms / women were WW11
vets, so no monkeying around, other wise there was a good chance what ever would get back to your parents. There was lots to do as a kid there about. You could be gone all day and no one was worried, people in general looked out for kids and kids more often than not listened to adults, other wise you get your up comings...when the big corporations picked up sticks so went the money , the economy went down hill. for a while I delivered new papers: cut grace, raked , washed dishes, bused tables, anything for a buck; which was about all they gave kids back then. Day brothers had some sort of mono rail space rocket ride in the basement, kids would be lined up to ride in it.
My grand mother worked in Chappell's department store. it was top shelf.
Crooked state politics were pretty much what was the driving forces for the city going the way. There was a rail road, steam loco that ran down Salina street. I'm fairly positive in many places those old rails are under the pavement in some places. seen them. when I was kid.
Days gone by. the state keeps voting liberal, you'll never see the light of day. with out
Corporate America to establish solid business in your cities / county. it'll be hard
going... GOD Bless.
Yeah no problem! Stay tuned for more and thanks for the perspective!
Dawg u wrote a whole paragraph 💀
you're the problem
"the state keeps voting liberal, you'll never see the light of day."
That's funny. I live and work over here in the liberal hell hole of Massachusetts and we're doing just fine.
You lost me when you got political, I don't know if you realize that more Republican states have a higher rate of welfare recipients living off the taxes that the liberal states pay for, and crime and drug abuse is much more rampant in republican states than in liberal states. But digressing, the problems with most of America today are not so much political as they are of a people in transition from a time like you described; where people had a sense of direction. I get melancholic too, but I know we need to move forward. Younger generations abandoned those norms that kept people in communities; things like religious community, and civility was and still is largely a hypocritical support system, or social net if you will. Until some new sense of community replaces those old norms, young people will continue to feel hollow and even devoid of humanity in some cases. I have hope for humanity and believe we will find our way eventually, because I have seen with my own eyes what we are capable of when we choose to show empathy for one another; that we will recreate/restore that sense of community once again and we will be ok. This is part of an evolutionary global cycle we are going through as a race. The next set of ideals have to be honest though; to appeal to the masses. This is what happens when science brings you out of the dark ages. People no longer believe that a mere man built an ark made out of wood, that carried two of each earthly species over rough seas for 40 days and 40 nights. People no longer believe that there was an Adam and Eve, and a talking snake, in the beginning. I think that is all good. Progress is great. But we need to restore our capacity for compassion for one another. There is no political party or current idealism that will fix that. We will have to come together to make this great social experiment work.
Boy in the dirty north fasho
This Most definitely IS NOT THE HOOD!!!!
I was born and raised in Syracuse New York that is not the south side that is the Northside I left Syracuse in 1988
