Thank you for following up on the last one, just because of the increase in effort, be it small or large on your part, to go from builds to guides has immediately shot you up to my favorite PoT-tuber. And because of that, my favorite dinotuber as well, because PoT is the only dino game I honestly play right now. With 1700 hours on The Isle since it's release I've honestly been drained of enjoyment when playing it, but I'm only waiting for proper humans to start being implemented. It would bring me no greater joy than to vibe check a stego into the shadow realm with 14 rounds of 7.62x51
Just grew a Dasp last night for the first time and didn't see much action so this video definitely helps a lot. Only real experience I've had with them is fighting them so it's nice to know the other side. Which is crazy when you consider I've been playing the game since the first day that it came to consoles lmao
I love this video because I haven't used dasp in such a long time because of its enormous cooldowns but this is really useful to know. Can you do either alberta, cerato, or meg next? A kentro guide would also be really good because I never know if I should use speed or defense hide.
I would say my main head-abilitie's are "NORMAL BITE" and "PIERCING BITE". I use these headslots because it's genaraly good with the new update piercing bite cooldown has been buffed from 20 to 10 second cooldown. And you can use it far all the stat's of dinosaurs in the game like normal bite for weak-tiers,that are dino's that range from ramph to cera. And for mid-tiers i use normale bite and a ucasiunol piercing bite's,mid-tiers range from allo to sucho being the king of mid tiers. For large-tiers only piercing bite and tail attack if you can,large-tiers range from(sorry cant help you with this one but range's to lamb or Trex as the final large-tier) And i named these tiers myself hope it was helpfull for witch head-abilities to use and if you practice enough you can kill a ano just like me (WARNING YOU CAN ONLY BEAT A ANO IF IT'S UN-CROUCHED OR WALKING/RUNNING SO DO NOT ATTEMPT ON MULTI-PLAYER AND PRACTICE PLS DONT WANT HATE REPLY'S!)
I can't thank you enough for these new style of videos! I've always tried using the builds in your videos but even then I'd lose with dinosaurs like dasp. I usually play solo but most dinosaurs seem built for group use so all these added details make things so much better when playing

I'd argue there's another build that's kind of and intermediate between the noob and solo build. That being a balanced sub sp, normal bite(or heavy bite if you're a bit more daring), piercing bite, armor hide, long distance runner(or traction if you're good at conserving stamina) and balanced tail. While it is certainly not the best, and is better used in a group of at least 2, it's one of the best solo builds I've ever used. Since you out turn most apexes(especially with traction), you can deal insane damage with piercing, while still being able to one-shot ankle biters and chase after more nimble prey with normal bite while piercing is on cooldown. Though I still think your builds are better organised and thought out, this one is an option. But(for anyone reading this) remember, this game is all about customization, find the combination of abilites that works the best for you!
very much appreciated been getting into dasp recently, been learning things on my own, though i am always on the look out for tips, though i woud like to see a guide to combat the raptors though i still have trouble with them, and any tip whether verbal or visual, though preferably visual, would help
I know def dasp is so slow now, but I like using it as extra defense when I get into fights where more than one dino is attacking me and I can’t outrun them. Just back yourself up so they either risk friendly fire, or have to go in one at a time and you can just pick them off with heavy/reg bite. Awesome tutorial tho! I’ve been trying to implement your fighting techniques in battle and I already see some improvement

this is more so a critique about the server being played. if it is new era deathmatch every dinosaur has tweaked stats on it but overall this video is fine for a guide
Good video man everything is on point. I just wish they would make dasp a little quieter when walking it makes it really frustrating playing solo on official as mix packs tend to pin your location pretty quick and once thier friends arrive with the counter dinos (multi speed) and a big hitter for finishing its game over unless you have heard them coming and hid etc. Especially after playing mod dinos like maip or even better PT rex dinos that actually have soft walking (padded feet) like most carnivores should have in the game. On community servers Dasp is really fun though as your not constantly walking into bullshit trash groups. Allo is another Dino that among many other fails is obscenely loud even when walking slow.
I use heavy and piercing. I noticed that my build is great for killing claw barrage theris and I managed to kill a giga too. Idk if it's the best but the non colliding cooldowns helps with heavy hitting and disengaging
Can you pls make a Beaked Pachy build/guide video? I want to see more people using it, it's really good best build I could come up with was: +attack subspecies bite - good dps, head smash - bonebreak which combos with; mold breaker - +15% damage and knockback when close to a bbd creature, and; Charge - good damage, don't use it to escape, uses a lot of stam, either omnivore or mountain climber, depending weather there's fall damage on the server, speed hide - pachy needs the speed to survive, the defense boost is not enough, stamina regen legs - very helpful concidering the big stam drain and that normal regen is slow, balanced tail - way easier to aim attacks with it. I'm always using this and, for example, it's basically the hard counter to hatz. you can bb your way out of the grab, bb also disables flight and running, and you can combo it with charge for absurd damage. at that point you can facetank a hatz.
As a dasp main I will say Hunter is a good skin for camo. In the Birch forest/Green hills/Grand plains I am invisible a bunch of the time, in a bush or just standing/crouched in the open.
Generally any carnivore with a good turn can best a dasp, but yeah kentro hard counters dasp, I know this cause on a realism server, a kentro got me to 25% of my health and i was dogding its tail attacks and biting only made it worse
Oh here’s a tip… don’t depend on bushes too much. Someone on a phone or pc can put graphics to low and you might think you’re hidden but you’re just crouched in the open lol 😂 stay safe!
I have a question am a Rex main but moveing to dasp to have something strong and fast I love the Rex but hated not being able to run someone down and kill them or end them after I got them one shot and they walk alway. So I want to know what build and bite set up would you my buddy told me bite and armor bite but I wanted to ask

I'd personally say so, you definitely want something to slow down the faster, smaller creatures with the bb and armour piercing is so good for bigger opponents too
Defence dasp is less viable now due to how slow it is. Mods smoke it nowadays, same with apexes seeing as they’ve been buffed recently (Spino - traction) (Rex - multiple buffs) (Pt Rex - ambush is defence dasps nightmare)

Decent game, but balance is really bad. 1v1 is skill, split second its 2vmore its just slaughter. I dont ever think i saw or had a fight where i had to use skill, since 9 out of 10 fights you know whos gonna win by ease. Stupidly op in groups, even vs apexes
Make the change to balance man it doesn't take to long grow back to full adult. I had my old dasp on panjura as defense and switched to balance like my Gondwa one. Defense is ok if they want to fight but if they want to run and kite there's nothing you can do about it as they're stupid slow

Dasp is gonna get better since on the test branch has had its bite cooldowns unbound from each other
I just hope its not op which it probably will be, considering almost every playable has some sort of linked cooldowns

best build I could come up with was:

Equip anti pounce hide
Its mainly about positioning yourself in a tight location so when the raptors come in they are funneled towards your mouth
